1.0 GENERAL PURPOSE

This procedure covers the activities required for testing and commissioning of the following UPS system for Unit 1, 2, consist of the below table

1.2 SCOPE OF COMMISSIONING PACKAGE

The commissioning package for UPS system, consist of the following packages :

1.3.1 Before the start of any testing it should be confirmed that all power supplies to the system

have been isolated or that they are in a known condition The Commissioning engineer is responsible for the safety of those personnel working of the system Check for the presence of

harmful electrical or mechanical potential energy before starting work

1.3.2 Project lockout / Tagout(LOTO) procedures must be adhere to all test area

1.3.3 Fire is strictly prohibited on site, no smoking there must be a warning mark in hazardous area

1.3.4 Strictly comply with the safety and environmental protection regulations of local government

1.3.5 In order to ensure the reliable operation of every part of the system, strictly obey the

corresponding procedures

1.3.6 Have a regular maintenance for the long-time standby equipment

1.3.7 Obey the relevant safety regulations of the power plant during commissioning all along

Ensure the successful commissioning work

1.3.8 All personnel directly involved with the commissioning that will attend a kickoff safety meeting

to review for the dangers Ensure that all personnel understand the process and the operation

Any personnel involved in the commissioning have the authority to terminate the operation at

any time, if a serious problem or safety issue develops

1.3.9 Before start up battery commissioning shall be issue concern and shall be open hot work for

battery operation

1.3.10 Before energizing the main power to the system, keep panel heaters on for at least 48 hours

and make sure transformers are dry

1.3.11 Subsequent to commissioning system will be live as batteries need to be kept float charged

Hence access control restrictions has to be implemented for the two rooms

1.Alarms

a) Perform lamp test and check that all Led’s illuminate

Note that common alarm Led on display is not included

b) Check each individual Alarm for indication

UPS FUNCTION TEST

1 Functional test for complete system

Condition: Complete System is working in normal operation and no alarm is pending

● Open Rectifier Main Input Breaker (Q001) => UPS switch over to Battery Operation

● Open Battery Breaker (Q004) => UPS goes to Bypass Operation (EN is closed)

● Close Rectifier Main Breaker (Q001) => UPS switch to Normal Operation

● Close Battery Breaker (Q004) => Batteries will be recharged

● Set System Bypass Operation ON from the User Stack, green LED for EN will ON, display show Bypass

● Set UPS OFF and measure the output voltage in distribution

● Turn Manual Bypass Switch (Q050) from Test to Bypass position

● Open the Rectifier Main Input Breaker (Q001) and Battery Breaker (Q004)

● Turn Manual Bypass Switch (Q050) from Bypass to Test position

● Close the Rectifier Main Input Breaker (Q001)

● Set UPS ON

● Measure DC Voltage via front panel if the voltages within tolerance close the Battery Breaker (Q004)

● After Inverter synchronized with Bypass supply set the system to Bypass Operation ON from the User

Stack

● Turn the Manual Bypass Switch (Q050) from Test to Auto position

● Set system Bypass Operation OFF from the User operation

● Turn Manual Bypass Switch (Q050) from Auto to Test position, Load is supplied by Bypass Main

supply

Stack

System was back to Normal Operation, and reset all the front panel alarm
