INGREDIENTS: Cup of Milk Cup of soft Bread Crumps Cup of Chopped Ham or Bacon Cups of grated Cheese Eggs ½ Cup of Chopped Shallots Salt and Pepper to taste Sprinkle of chopped Parsley INSTRUCTIONS: Beat eggs and milk and then add all other ingredients Pour into a greased or 9-inch pie plate and back in a moderate oven for 30 – 35 minutes IMPOSSIBLE QUICHE INGREDIENTS: Eggs ½ Cups of Milk Salt and Pepper Cup of grated Cheese Finely chopped Onion Rashers of chopped Bacon ½ Cup of Self Raising Flour INSTRUCTIONS: Mix eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl Combine cheese, onion, bacon, and self-raising flour in another bowl Pour liquid ingredients into dry ingredients and mix Pour into a Quiche Dish Bake in a moderate over at 400°F / 200°C for 40 minutes Or Microwave medium for 12 minutes TIP: With quiches, you can add any ingredients you want These recipes are basic, and you can use them as a base for your own For example, you can add mushrooms, capsicums, and zucchini just to name a few You are only limited by your taste buds Also, if you prefer, you can use low-fat cheese to make it a healthier alternative Quiches are a quick and easy meal Plus, they have the benefit of being filling My mother used to cook them all the time I swear my brothers could smell them from across town As they always turned up when she cooked them Devour them and even lick the plates clean BARBECUE RECIPES LEMON MARINATED LAMB CHOPS INGREDIENTS: Lamb Chops Peeled Onion Clove of crushed Garlic Bay Leaf Teaspoon of Dried Oregano Leaves ½ Cup of Olive Oil Tablespoons of Lemon Juice INSTRUCTIONS: Place chops into a dish in single layer Process or blend onion, garlic, bay leaf and oregano with oil and lemon juice Pour marinade over chops Cover and marinate for several hours or refrigerate overnight Barbecue until tender Baste with marinade often during cooking Serves ZUCCHINI BURGERS INGREDIENTS: 500 grams of Minced Steak Small grated onion Small grated zucchini (185 grams) Teaspoon of Soy Sauce Teaspoon of grated Green Ginger Egg yolk Burger Buns Sliced Tomato Sliced onion Lettuce INSTRUCTIONS: Combine minced steak, grated onion, zucchini, soy sauce, ginger, and egg yolk in a bowl Use a hamburger press to make hamburgers Barbecue on a lightly oiled grill until done Serve on a toasted buttered bun with tomato, onion, and lettuce Makes burgers ALTERNATIVELY: If you don’t own a hamburger press you can make them with your hands Put plain flour on a plate, lightly dust your hands with flour Scoop up some meat mixture with a spoon and place on the plate with the flour Cover with flour and roll into a ball shape You can then flatten the burger and place on a clean plate ready for cooking TIP: I personally don’t flatten the burgers at this stage I prefer to sear one side before turning the burger and then flatten them It makes them easier to handle, so they don’t break MARS BAR SLICE INGREDIENTS: Mars Bars Tablespoon of Butter Cups of Rice Bubbles INSTRUCTIONS: Melt Mars Bars and butter over a low heat Pour over rice bubbles and mix well Place into the tray and refrigerate until set Ice with melted cooking chocolate (200 grams and gram of Copha) Spread over mixture Cut into squares when set PEPPERMINT SLICE INGREDIENTS: Tablespoons of Butter ½ Tablespoon of Cocoa Powder ½ Cup of Sugar Egg Few drops of Vanilla Essence Cup of Shredded Coconut ½ Cup of Walnuts (crushed) Cups of Wheatmeal or Biscuit Crumbs ½ Teaspoon of Peppermint Essence 28 Grams of Solid White Shortening Dessertspoons of Milk Cup of Icing Sugar INSTRUCTIONS: Melt milk and shortening together Melt butter, sugar together Add beaten egg, vanilla essence, peppermint essence, milk and shortening blend Add coconut, walnuts, icing sugar, cocoa powder, and wheatmeal or biscuit crumbs Mix well Press into a pan and refrigerate until set Cut into slices CHOCOLATE NUT FINGERS INGREDIENTS: Packet of Plain Sweet Biscuits ½ Cup of Walnuts Tablespoons of Butter Tablespoons of Milk ½ Cup of Sugar Teaspoon of Vanilla Essence Level Tablespoon of Cocoa Powder INSTRUCTIONS: Crush biscuits and add chopped walnuts Place butter, milk, sugar, vanilla essence, and cocoa powder in a saucepan Stir until boiling Cook for minute Allow to cool Fold in biscuit crumb and walnut mixture Press into a pan and chill until set Cut into finger shape and dust light with icing sugar or chocolate icing QUICK AND EASY VANILLA SLICE INGREDIENTS: 18 Sayo Biscuits Custard Powder INSTRUCTIONS: Make custard as directed on the box It needs to thick Place Sayo biscuits into a pan Pour custard over the biscuits Add remain Sayo biscuits onto of the custard mix Allow to cool then ice with vanilla icing Refrigerate until set Cut into squares DIP RECIPES AVOCADO DIP INGREDIENTS: Large ripe Avocado (mashed) Tablespoon of Onion (minced) Clove of Garlic (minced) ¼ Teaspoon of Salt ½ Cup of Mayonnaise Slices of Bacon (cooked and crumbled) ¼ Teaspoon of Chili Powder Dash of Pepper INSTRUCTIONS: Mix all ingredients except mayonnaise and bacon into a bowl Just before serving add mayonnaise and bacon and blend all ingredients (this avoids the avocado turning black) CURRY DIP INGREDIENTS: Packet of Curry Sauce Tin of Reduced Cream Eggs (hard boiled and chopped) INSTRUCTIONS: Mix all ingredients together and let stand before serving This allows the flavours to blend MINTED PRAWN DIP INGREDIENTS: Teaspoons of Gelatine Tablespoon of Mint (chopped) 12 Prawns (cooked, shelled and chopped) Cup of Mayonnaise Tablespoon of Parsley (finely chopped) ½ Cup of Hot Water Tablespoon of Chives (finely chopped) Salt and Pepper ¼ Cup of Sherry INSTRUCTIONS: Mix mayonnaise and sherry together Dissolve gelatine in hot water, and add to mayonnaise and sherry mixture In another bowl add prawns, mint, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper Mix well together Add dry ingredients into mayonnaise and sherry mixture and folk through Spoon into serving dish CHEESE AND GHERKIN DIP INGREDIENTS: Teaspoon of Gelatine 15 Tablespoons of Cream Cheese Tablespoons of Mayonnaise Salt Pepper Cayenne Pepper ½ Cup of Hot Water Cup of Evaporated Milk Gherkins (finely chopped) or Tablespoons of Gherkin Relish INSTRUCTIONS: Dissolve gelatine in hot water Beat cheese with mayonnaise, add milk and gelatine solution Beat until thick Add salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper to taste Fold in the chopped gherkin or relish Refrigerate until set Before serving folk through and then spoon into a serving bowl MISTLETOE DIP INGREDIENTS: ½ Packet of French Onion Dip Carton of Sour Cream ½ Cup of Mixed Dried Fruit (chopped) ½ Cup of Pine Nuts INSTRUCTIONS: Combine all ingredients and chill Serve in a bowl with dried apricots or fresh apple slices (dipped in lemon) on the side FESTIVE CHICKEN DIP INGREDIENTS: ½ Packet of Salt Reduced Cream of Chicken Soup Carton of Sour Cream ½ Cup of Toasted Flaked Almonds Tablespoon of White Wine INSTRUCTIONS: Combine all ingredients and chill Serve on a tray with crusty French bread and zucchini sticks PINEAPPLE CHEESE DIP INGREDIENTS: Small Philadelphia Cheese Small tin of Pineapple (drained and crushed) Mint (chopped) Pepper to taste INSTRUCTIONS: Cream cheese until very soft Add other ingredients and beat well Serve with crackers and carrot sticks DRINKS GINGER, PINEAPPLE, AND ORANGE PUNCH INGREDIENTS: Litre Carton of Orange Juice 750 MLS Can of Pineapple and Orange Juice Cups of Water Cup of Sugar x 1.25 Litres of Dry Ginger Ale Oranges (segmented) INSTRUCTIONS: Combine juices, water, and sugar in a saucepan and stir
