to gender equality and concrete and innovative actions taken to advance the Principles and particularly, Principle One: Leadership Promotes Gender Equality Review Process The review process was aimed at finding outstanding and innovative initiatives meant to advance the implementation of the WEPs and gender equality within a company Specifically, the review focused on actions spearheaded by the CEO that resulted in concrete, sustainable programmes with measurable impact Awards Recipients Mr Cem Boyner, Chief Executive Officer, Boyner Group Award Category: Benchmarking for Change Advocating ‘Democracy for All’, Cem Boyner leads initiatives that aim to bring democratic elements of representation and participation into action not only in civil life, but also in the workplace As a recipient of the WEPs Leadership Award, he hopes others embrace the Principles and take action to spread a culture of democracy in working and political spheres In addition to his substantial business responsibilities, he remains deeply involved in strengthening non-governmental organizations, recognizing that business and civil society need to work together He is the former president of the markets across Europe, Asia and the Middle East In 2005, Mr Kent was appointed President of Coca-Cola International, responsible for overseeing all operations outside of North America In 2006, he assumed the role of President and Chief Operating Officer and in 2008 was elevated to President and CEO He was named Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2009 Mr Kent holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Hull in England and a Master of Science degree in Administrative Sciences from Cass Business School, City University London Active in the global business
