automatic hardware reset when the software detects that the SD memory is on locked state during boot up Hardware reset unlocks the SD memory card, after which the IFC2 card is fully operational the IFC2 may lead to a situation that temporarily freezes the internal controller of the SD memory card on the IFC2 The failure may occur on one or several IFC2 cards at the same time This requires a very specific sequence of states in HW and therefore the probability of the SD card freeze is very small at network level In the frozen state, the SD card responds returning 'locked by host' error bit to its controller chip Impact: When the SD memory card becomes frozen, the IFC2 invokes mini-application software and cannot complete the reboot This only affects the IFC2 having the frozen SD card, the other line cards in the subrack are not affected The visible symptom of the problem seen from the command line interface is that the unit is running on mini-application SW and previously loaded SW images seem to have disappeared from the file system The suspected error condition can be verified from CLI: "show debugging sw os-log slot | block permanent" filters warning: "ESDHC: Flash file system writes are not permanent in RAM mode."
