II/Teaching aids : Text book, teacher’s book, pictures, poster III/Teaching procedure : Teacher and students ’ activities Content 1.Warm up: Brainstorming List of the name some folktales that you have read. 2.Pre - reading: *Pre - teach vocabulary: *Checking technique: RO + R *True - False statements predictions Ask sts to read the statements (on poster) and guess which is True and which is False. The folktales *New words: cruel (a): ®éc ¸c, ¸c nghiÖt upset (a): buån phiÒn, thÊt väng fairy (n): tiªn rag (unc): quÇn ¸o r¸ch (to) fall in love with sb: ph¶i lßng ai, ®em lßng yªu ai a.Little Pea’s father is a poor farmer. b.Her father got married again after his wife died. c.Her new mother was beautiful and nice to her. d.She worked hard all day. e.She didn’t have new clothes to take part in the festival. 100 section bamboo The frog prince snow white and 7 dwarfs 7 mile shoes Tam Cam 3.While - reading: Have sts read the story “the lost shoe” on P.41 and check their prediction and ask them to correct the false statements. *Gap - filling Ask sts to work in pairs, filling the blanks with suitable words from the story. *Comprehension - Questions: Sts work in pairs, answering the questions in exercise 2 0n - P.42 4.Post - reading: Recall Sts work in pair, using the following word cues to retell the story. 5.Homework: Do exercise 6 - P. 30 -> workbook *Answer key: a.T b.T c.F -> Her new mother was cruel to her. d.T e.F -> A fairy gave her new (beautiful) clothes. *Answer key: a.farmer d.marry / choose b.died e.new clothes c.had / used, again f.lost *Answer: a.She was a poor farmer’s daughter. b.She made her do the chores all day. c.Before the festival started, a fairy appeared and magically changed her rags into beautiful clothes. d.The prince decided to marry the girl who owned it.
