Câu hỏi đuôi là câu hỏi được thêm vào cuối câu trần thuật (statements)

Câu hỏi đuôi thường được dùng để kiểm tra điều gì đó có đúng hay không, hoặc để yêu cầu sự đồng ý

Câu hỏi đuôi thường được dùng trong văn nói và đôi khi trong văn viết thân mật

Tóm lại: Một câu hỏi đuôi gồm có hai phần: phần nêu ý và phần hỏi đuôi

Thể trong câu hỏi đuôi phải đối lập nhau

Động từ phải tương ứng và ở dạng rút gọn

Dùng đại từ thay thế ở phần đuôi (I/ we/ you / they/ he/ she/ it/ there)

* is/ are/ was/ were/ can/ may/ must/ should/ would/ will/ … # (n’t)

* V-past2/ V-ed did(n’t)

Ví dụ:

1) These Math problems are difficult, aren’t they?

2) Lan has to complete these exercises, doesn’t she?

3) Your brother has passed the English written exam, hasn’t he?
