AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: * Language content: - To introduce the subject - To help the students review some tenses * Language function: To enable the students to practise tenses they learned * Educational aim: The students are aware of the importance of learning English, of the syllabus 1. Language: a. Vocabulary: in grade 6 b. Structures: - Simple present tense - Present progressive tense 2. Skills: Integrated skills: 3. Education factor: Make them love English II. TEACHER AND STUDENTS’ PREPARATION: 1. Method: Communicative approach: 2. Techniques: Reminding, eliciting 3. Materials needed: Text book, chalk 4. Students’ preparation: Text book, note book, pens etc 5. Previous exercises: III. PROCEDURE IN CLASS: 1. Stabilization: (3ms) a. Warm – up: Greetings b. Checking absence: Who’s absent today? 2. Checking up previous knowledges: Time needed: (5ms) * Questions: What do you usually do in your summer vacation? What are you doing? * Keys to questions: I often stay at home / play games? I am studying English 3. LEAD- IN - “To day I’ll introduce you the syllabus of English 7 and help you review two tenses” - Writes the title on the board. - Listen - Write down UNIT: REVIEW I. Introduce the subject: - Syllabus (page 3 – 9) - Grammar (page 168-177) 5ms– 7ms II. PRE- PRACTICE. - Introduces the syllabus of English 7 page 8 → 9, grammar (p.168) glossary (p.178) - Reviews two tenses - Gives some sentence and asks sts to recognize What tenses: (handouts) 1. I usually get up at 6.00 2. He usually get up at 5.00 3. What time do you get up? 4. What time does he get up? 5. I don’t like cold water 6. I doesn’t like cold water 7. We are studying English 8. What are you studying? 9. We are not playing games - Asks Ss to draw out the formation and to tell the usage of these tenses (I,II) - Listen to the teacher. - Listen and answer. - Say the usage of these tenses. 13- 15ms III. CONSOLIDATION - What tense do we use to describe an action that happens repeatedly? An action that is happening at the time of speaking? - Listen and answer question “Simple present tense” “Present progressive tense” 4. Homework: (1m) - Asks the Ss to do the homework (IV – handout) and review two tenses. 5. Preparation for the next lesson: (1m) - Asks the Ss to prepare for Unit 1, A1, 2 6. Self – evaluation: . . . . AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: * Language content: - To introduce some new words relating to greeting people (friends), identifying oneself, introducing others, asking for and giving personal information of new students. -To enable Ss to use some expressions, indefinite quantifier“many” * Language function: - To help the students to ask and answer about personal -To make them how to express their agreement in formation * Educational aim: To make the students aware of the importance of the friendship, relationship between people. 1. Language: a. Vocabulary: different, unhappy, to miss b. Structures: Nice to meet/see you I’m in class 7A Nice to meet/see you, too Nice to meet/see you again So am I. 2. Skills: Integrated skills: 3. Education factor: To help the students know how to greet friends after their summer vacation and greet friends when they first meet. II. TEACHER AND STUDENTS’ PREPARATION: 1. Method: Communicative approach: 2. Techniques: Repetition, explanation, using pictures, pair work 3. Materials needed: Text books 4. Students’ preparation: Review the structure “S + be + adj er + than + S2”, E.6.11 15B 5. Previous exercises: The teacher’s key to the last exercises. III. PROCEDURE IN CLASS: 1. Stabilization: (2ms) a. Warm – up : (1m) Greetings. b. Checking absence: Who’s absent today? 2. Lead-in + Are you happy to be back to our school? + Do you have a new friends? How many? - Well, to day We’ll study Unit 1 – Back to school, A – Friends (1,2) page 10 – 11. - Writes the title on bb. - Answer - Yes, I have (about six) - Listen and open their text book - Write down. UNIT: 1 BACK TO SCHOOL. LESSON: 1 A- FRIENDS ( 1-2) I. New expressions and words: 1. A1 - Nice to see / meet you again - Nice to see / meet you, too - Nice to see / meet you → For new friends. * Nice to see / meet you again → For old friends. - I’m in class 7A5 / 7 A6 So am I 2. A2 - Different (a) - Unhappy (a) ≠ Happy - To miss (v) II. Remember: - Nice to meet you - Nice to meet you again - Nice to meet you, too - I’m in class 7A So am I. 7ms 2. Pre – Practice a) How do you greet you old friends? Yes, and you can say - “Nice to see/meet you again” to greet your old friends and you reply “Nice to see/meet you, too” And to greet your new friends, you say “Nice to see/meet you” - I’m in class 7A5 / 7A6 “So am I” b) Checks under standing: Calls 3 students (2 old, 1 new) and asks them to greet each other. - Hello / Hi - Listen, repeat - Listen, repeat - Greet one another 6ms 3. Lead-in - Now, you’ll know more about your new friend, Hoa at A2, read page 11 - Listen and book at A2, page 11 5ms 2. NEW LESSON: * A3 1. Lead-in - Now please look at the picture page 12. This is Mr Tan and Nga. Tell me what are they doing? - Good today you will study some more expression of greeting from A3, 4, 5 page 12 -13 - “Look at the picture (pare 12) and listen to the T’s introduction talking/greeting. - Listen to the teacher. UNIT: 1 BACK TO SCHOOL. LESSON: A – FRIENDS ( 3, 4, 5) I. New words and expression: * A3: Good morning / Afternoon / Evening → for greeting adult - Hi/Hello → for friends - See you later = See you again * A4: - How is everything? Pretty good * A5: Do you have time? = What time is it? II. Remember - Nga: Good morning Mr Tan - Mr Tan: Good morning Nga How are you today? Just fine How are you? Not bad How is everything? Ok How about you? Pretty good (Box A4) 3ms 2. Pre – Practice: - Plays the tape once gives clear explanation of the difference between “Good morning…” and Hi/Hello. See you later - Listen to the tape. - Listen and write down 6ms . 3. While – Practice. - Plays the tape twice or more (books closed) - Asks the Ss to work in pairs. - Asks some pairs to practise before class. - Gives remarks and marks - Listen and repeat (book close) - Pair work - Practise before class - Listen to T’s remarks 1m * A4. 1. Lead-in - Now, you’ll listening to two conversations of greetings - Listen to the teacher. 2ms 2. Pre – Reading - Explains 3 columns and teaches some: - How is everything? Pretty good - Listen and take notes. 5ms 3. While – Listening - Asks them to read / scan - Plays the tape 1 – 3 times - Scan the box - Listen and complete conversations.
