Date of planning: March 18th, 2017 Date of teaching: March 22th, 2017 Period: 76 Unit 12: THE ASIAN GAMES READING (Para.1, 2) I Aims: by the end of the lesson, students can be able to: - understand the passage - scan for specific information - guess the meaning in context - remember some events about the Asian games II Method: Communicative approach III Skills: Integrated skills (Especially reading skill) IV Teaching aids: pictures, handouts, text books, word cards V Procedure: Stages/Time Warm up (5’) Teacher’s activities GAME: MEMORY GAME - Divides class into groups and introduces the rule of the game: - Shows 10 pictures on the screen - Four groups have 20 seconds to look and remember the things on these pictures as much as they can, after that, the groups will write down the name of the things which they remember and then stick on the board - The group having more correct answers will be the winner Students’ activities - Listen to teacher - Play game Body building Badminton Baseball Basketball Swimming PreReading (12’) Volleyball Football Table tennis Boxing 10 Shooting * Lead-in: You have seen some pictures about sports, so tell me Which topic these sports related to?
