2 nd TERM REVISION (Till period 96) I. TENSES: 1. The Present Simple Tense: a. Form: *To be: (+) S + am/is/are … (-) S + am/is/are + not … (?) Am/Is/Are + S + …? *Ordinary verbs: (+) S + V(s/es) … (-) S + do not /does not+ V-inf … (?) Do/Does + S + V-inf …? b. Uses: Diễn tả - sự thật hiển nhiên, các câu châm ngôn; - sự việc ở hiện tại; - sự việc lặp đi lặp lại, thói quen ở hiện tại. Adverbs: - Adverbs of frequences: always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, never. - Once/twice/three times… a week/a month/ a year… - Every day/Monday/week/… 2. The Present Progressive Tense: a. Form: (+) S + am/is/are + V-ing … (-) S + am/is/are + not + V-ing … (?) Am/Is/Are + S + V-ing …? b. Uses: Diễn tả hành động, sự việc - đang xảy ra tại thời điểm nói; - sẽ diễn ra trong tương lai gần hoặc kế hoạch đã định trước.  Adverbs: now, at the/this moment, at present. 3. The Near Future with “Be going to”: a. Form: (+) S + am/is/are going to + V-inf … (-) S + am/is/are + not + going to + V-inf … (?) Am/Is/Are + S + going to + V-inf …? b. Uses: Diễn tả hành động, sự việc sẽ diễn ra trong tương lai gần hoặc kế hoạch đã định trước.  Adverbs: - Tomorrow, tonight, this afternoon/evening… - Next Monday/Tuesday/week/month… - In/on + future time. 4. Model verbs: can, must, would, should * Form: S + can/must/would/should + V-inf … * E.g: - He can speak English and French. - She would like some bread now. II. COMPARISIONS: SHORT ADJECTIVES 1. So sánh hơn: * Form: S + to be + adj. + -ER + than + S + to be. Object. * E.g: - He is shorter than she is/her. - These trees are taller than those trees (are). 2.
