School: Nguyen Van Cu High School Time allotted: 45 Week: Class: 10A Period: Teacher in charge: Nguyễn Tờ Vân Anh D.O.P: September 17th, 2016 D.O.T: Unit 1: FAMILY LIFE Seen, Sep 19th, 2016 A GETTING STARTED I Aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: Lê Thị Huyền Knowledge: Use the words and phrases related to household chores and duties Skills: Read about the benefits of sharing household Behaviour: think about sharing household chores with other family members II Methods, teaching aids: - Methods: Communicative Approach - Teaching aids: textbook, board, posters, handouts, projectors, speakers III Procedure: 1.Class Stabilization: - Greeting - Checking up the attendance 2.New lesson: Teacher and Student’s activities Contents  Lead-in: - T shows the picture and asks Ss to answer the questions Look at the picture and answer the questions - T introduces the new lesson - Who are the people in the picture? What are they doing? What is your responsibility in your family? Who does the household chores?  Task 1: Listen and read: - T plays the recording and asks Ss to listen and pay (Students’ book, page 6) attention to the text to understand the content - Ss listen and read along silently  Task 2: - T asks Ss to read the passage again and get information to Activity 1: Decide whether the sentences are Task in pairs - Ss refer back to the conversation to give reason for their true, false or not given and tick the correct box answers F NG F T T NG - Students compare the answers with a partner Activity 2: Correct the false information - T asks some pairs to ask and answers Nam’s father is preparing dinner - The whole class check and give feedback Nam’s sister is studying for exams - T plays the recording and asks Ss to listen then repeat the  Task 3: Listen and repeat the words or words/ phrases twice phrases household chores household finances - T asks some Ss to read the words heavy lifting laundry rubbish - T corrects Ss’ pronunciation groceries washing – up - T explains the meanings if necessary - T asks Ss to write the verbs or phrases that are used with  Write the verbs/verb phrases that are the words or phrases in the conversation used with the words/phrases in the conversation - T asks Ss to work individually School: Nguyen Van Cu High School Time allotted: 45 Week: Class: 10A Period: - T plays the recording again if necessary - T asks Ss to exchange the answers with their partner - T gives feedback Teacher in charge: Nguyễn Tờ Vân Anh D.O.P: September 17th, 2016 D.O.T: 1) Split/ divide/ handle/ (household) chores 2) take out rubbish 3) laundry 4) shop for groceries 5) heavy lifting 6) washing - up 7) be responsible for household finances 3.Consolidation: - Household chores mentioned in the conversation - Practice the conversation 4.Homework - Learn by heart the words and phrases related to household chores and duties - Prepare for the next lesson: Unit - Language + Vocabulary + Grammar + Do the tasks in advance IV Complement:
