Glenn: Great, Ashley You know, my cousin Philip is coming to visit from Manchester and I’m looking for things to around town Any ideas? Ashley: Yeah! Why don’t you go to the London Eye? Glenn: The London Eye? Are you kidding? I’ve already taken him there twice I don’t feel like going again, and anyway, it’s expensive Ashley: Yes, but they’ve got something new there now – a 4D film! Glenn: Really? Is it worth seeing? Ashley: Well there’s a description of it on YouTube Let’s have a look Part Rhonda: Hi, I’m Rhonda Ewing from our YouTube version of What’s New in London, and today I’d like to show you a new attraction in our fabulous city Now many of you may have been on the London Eye, the enormous wheel that was built in 1999, right before the millennium But now there’s a reason to go again: The new London Eye 4D Experience This is a spectacular 4D film, and it’s shown in a cinema at the London Eye that was built especially for 4D The film itself is the story of a little girl who imagines what it would be like to see London as a bird flying over the city Now first of all, the 3D effects are spectacular The bird looks as if it’s flying right next to you as you look at London from above You can see the city covered in white, since it was filmed during the snowstorms of 2009 But this film is 4D, so you don’t just see it – you also feel it! The wind actually blows in the cinema, and the soft, cold snow falls on you You smell the burning of fireworks as you watch London’s famous New Year’s Eve fireworks display This film cost £5 million to make, because of all the new 4D technology that was built into the cinema, such as wind and snow machines and a vibrating floor But despite the cost, you don’t have to pay extra for it if you ride on the London Eye – it’s included in the price of a ticket This film is only four minutes long, but it’s an experience you’ll never forget Glenn: Wow! That sounds really impressive! Ashley: Yeah, it does You know, I wouldn’t mind going myself Glenn: OK, so how about coming with me and Philip on Saturday? Ashley: I can’t make it this weekend I promised my parents I’d go with them to visit my grandparents Glenn: That’s a pity Ashley: Well, have fun and tell me if you like it! Glenn: OK Thanks for the idea!
