THE CONDITIONAL SENTENCES Example: If I were a bird, I would be a white pigeon If -clause Main clause Câu điều kiện thường có hai mệnh đề,mệnh đề mệnh đề phụ(mệnh đề If) Mệnh đề phụ đặt trước sau mệnh đề (Nếu mệnh đề phụ đặt trước mệnh đề sau có dấu phẩy) Có ba loại câu điều kiện sau Type I: Probable condition Thường dùng để diễn tả giả thiết xảy thực tế tương lai Ex 1: I will visit you if I have time Form: S + will + V …………………… ….If + S + V (simple present) + V(simple present) + modal verbs(can, must, …….) Imperatives Chú ý: Câu điều kiện loại ,mệnh đề If thường chia thường mệnh đề thường chia tương lai đơn, đơn động từ đặc biệt Ex 2: If you are free, Come to see me Type 2:Present unreal condition Thường dùng để diễn tả giả thiết trái với thực tế Ex: If I were you, I wouldn’t that Form: If +S + V (simple past)……………….,S + would/ could / might….+ V Note: be  were Type 3:Past unreal condition
