Barora Ite - Solonon Islands December 13th,2002 Re : M.V DONG HA damage to the ship’s gear Dear Sirs, Please note that on December 13th in the early morning at 05.20 a.m , when knocked loading cargo – round log in hold No.1 the wire rope for hoisting derrick boom of derrick No.2 was cut and the boom was fallen down to the cargo hold because of the improper operation carried out by the stevedores, the winch-man was careless look like nearly sleeping , so he used the derrick hoisting winch too fast while hoisting up the derrick boom at up position, then the derrick went over up limited and it cut the derrick hoisting wire rope That hoisting derrick wire rope was changed new on 3rd Nov,2002 at Mikawa – Japan The derrick itself was damaged too : it was bent in place near the end and cannot be used to work more, the cargo runner also was damaged The stevedores’ foreman Mr Duddley Bio , The Shipper –Bulacan, Charterer’s Agent were informed immediately about the above-mentioned damage and signed the Stevedore damage report and try arranging repairs In this connection, I have to hold the Stevedore company and The Shipper responsible for all damages caused and for all consequences which may arise there from In case of this damage , the charge of repair is responsible for the Stevedore Company and the Shipper In additional expansive charge for repairing will be also responsible for them The Shipper The Stevedore BULACAN CC :- DAEYANG SHIPPING Co,LTD VISERITRANS AS SHIP OWNER Yours faithfully, Master of M/V DONG HA
