3 Flexi Power Module (FPMA) and submodules (FPAA and FPBA) description

3.1 Flexi Power Module (FPMA) and sub-modules (FPAA and

• Flexi Power AC/DC sub-module 200-240 V AC (FPAA)

• Flexi Power Battery sub-module (FPBA)The maximum number of sub-modules in an FPMA is four

For installation instructions, see section Installing Flexi Power Module (FPMA) in the

Installing Flexi Multiradio BTS GSM/EDGE Optional Items document.

The FPMA is presented in the following figures

Figure 1 Power Module (FPMA)

Trang 14

Flexi Power Module (FPMA) and submodules (FPAA

and FPBA) description

Figure 2 FPMA: full configuration with two FPAAs and two FPBAsFor examples of how many FPMAs are required for common configurations, see section

Common configurations in Creating Stack, Wall and Pole Configurations for Flexi

Multi-radio BTS GSM/EDGE, Creating FCIA Configurations for Flexi MultiMulti-radio BTS GSM/EDGE and Creating FCOA Configurations for Flexi Multiradio BTS GSM/EDGE.

The FPMA can support 1-phase and 3-phase AC input The nominal input voltage is 200-240 V AC (the operating voltage range is 180 - 276 V AC) The maximum output power from the FPMA is 4kW (with 4 FPAAs)

Flexi Power AC-DC sub-module (FPAA)

The main function of the FPAA is to provide the BTS with nominal 48 V DC power from

an AC supply Maximum DC output power of one FPAA module is 1000 W A nominal

48 V DC supply is intended for BTS internal use only (a nominal 48 V DC supply is not intended for 3rd party equipment because they may require lower conducted emission level than EN55022 Class A) The FPAA includes its own integrated self-controlled fan

In case the fan fails, an alarm is generated and the FPAA has to be replaced (the fan alone cannot be replaced)

The FPAA unit remembers the main control switch position If the FPAA power is switched to Standby, the power remains OFF after input voltage interrupt

The stand-by switch is used for switching the FPAA unit ON/Stand-by when AC input voltage has been connected to the FPAA unit

Flexi Power Battery sub-module (FPBA/B)

The Flexi Power Battery Sub-Module (FPBA/B) is a separate optional sub-module used together with the FPAA

!

Risk of thermal runaway of the battery, because temperature compensation of charging voltage is not supported Do not connect an external lead acid battery for longer backup times to a nominal 48 V DC supply

Trang 15

Flexi Power Module (FPMA) and submodules (FPAA

and FPBA) description

Id:0900d805807fba9aConfidential

The FPBA/B provides short-term battery backup time when the AC power mains is down

on a Flexi BTS site The FPBA is a lithium ion battery and the FPBB is a Lithium Ferrite battery The maximum DC output power from one FPBA/B module is 1000 W The input power for the BTS cannot exceed the maximum output power of the installed batteries Otherwise the batteries do not provide the BTS with the needed power during power failure

The power switch of the FPBA/B unit controls input power Batteries can be drained by the BTS if the power switch is set to OFF position

The stand-by switch is used for switching the FPBA/B unit to ON/Stand-by when AC input voltage has been connected to the FPBA/B unit

g Do not install the FPBA and FPBB in parallel If used in parallel, one of these two battery types will discharge faster than the other causing an unbalance between the batteries

Lightning protection requirements

• +/- 2 kV, 1.2/50 µs pulse, Rs=(2 Ω + 10 Ω ) (line to ground, common)

• +/- 1 kV, 1.2/50 µs pulse, Rs=2 Ω (line to line, differential)

• +/- 6 kV, 1.2/50 µs pulse, Rs=2 Ω (each phase conductor to green-wire ground or neutral conductor, neutral conductor and green-wire ground)

4 Flexi Power DC/DC Sub-Module (FPDA) description

4.1 Flexi Power DC/DC Module (FPDA) operation

Flexi Power DC/DC Module (FPDA) is an optional stand-alone 2 kW DC/DC module. The FPDA converts nominal 24 V DC input voltage (normally negative grounded) 53-55

V DC output voltage The 53-55 V DC is then distributed to BTS loads When the BTS power load is more than 2 kW, multiple FPDAs can be installed in parallel When FPDAs are used in parallel, a maximum of two DC cables can be installed together at each output terminal

Conducted emission level of the 53-55 V DC supply is according to the standard EN55022 Class A The 53-55 V DC supply is intended for BTS internal use only (the 53-

55 V DC supply is not intended for 3rd party equipment because they may require lower conducted emission level than EN55022 Class A)

The FPDA includes its own integrated self-controlled fan In case the fan fails, an alarm

is generated and the fan has to be replaced

For installation instructions, see section Installing Flexi Power DC/DC Module 24V FPDA in the Installing Flexi Multiradio BTS GSM/EDGE Optional Items document.

The FPDA is presented in the following figure

5.1 Technical description of Dual Band Diplex Filter (DU2A)

unit

5.1.1 Function

The Dual Band Diplex Filter Unit (DU2A) either combines signals of different frequency bands onto one antenna, or splits an antenna signal into different frequency bands It handles TX and RX signals from the GSM/EDGE 800/900 bands and the GSM/EDGE 1800/1900 bands

For more information on Dual Band Diplex Filter (DU2A), see Nokia Siemens Networks

Antenna Systems Operating Documentation.

Figure 7 DU2A unit

Lightning protection

The centre pin of the DU2A unit antenna port is DC grounded This connection prevents

a charge buildup on the antenna and protects th DU2A unit against lightning

5.1.2 Operation

The DU2A unit operates on the following frequency bands:

1 Dual band antenna

Trang 26

Diplexer Unit (DU2A)

• GSM/EDGE 800/900 band – 824 to 960 MHz

• GSM/EDGE 1800/1900 band – 1710 to 1990 MHzThe normal operating temperatures for the DU2A unit are -10° C to 65° C (14° F to 149° F) However, the unit can operate in temperatures as low as -33° C (-27.4° F) with degraded RF performance

6 Flexi Mounting Auxiliary Bracket (FMAA) description

The Flexi Mounting Auxiliary Bracket (FMAA) can be used to mount auxiliary boxes (FSEB, FSEC, or LMUB Outdoor) in pole, wall, stack, or EMIA/EMIB installations One FSEB can be installed to the Citytalk Cabinet without the use of FMAA The FMAA must

is installed on top of a casing It cannot be installed as a standalone part

If FMAA is installed to a Citytalk Cabinet where Talk Conversion Kit EMIB is used, EMHA has to be ordered separately

The FMAA is mounted to the top casing in horizontal stacks and the outer casing in vertical installations The auxiliary boxes are then mounted to the FMAA based on their own installation principles There is enough space for a maximum of one FSEC box and one FSEB box or two FSEC boxes If an LMUB Outdoor is mounted on the FMAA, there

is not enough space for another box

7.1 Flexi System External Alarm Box (FSEB) operation

The FSEB box is used for extending the Flexi BTS alarm connector to support minimum

12 and maximum 24 alarm interfaces The lower limit of 12 alarm interfaces is built into the System Module Support for the fire detector is also provided The FSEB box provides IP65 protection

In outdoor applications, the box can be attached to the outdoor cabinet roof There are fixing points for the FSEB in the outdoor cabinet In indoor or stacked applications, the box is attached in the proximity of the modules, for example, on a wall

The Flexi Mounting Auxiliary Brackets (FMAA) can be used to mount the FSEB on the top or outer casings in pole, wall, and stack configurations The brackets are mounted

on the top or outer casing using the existing connection pin holes See the Appendix A Contents of delivery section in this document for product ordering and delivery contents details
