Unit 1: Week: 3, Period: 6, Lesson: Date: A VISIT FROM A PEN PAL LANGUAGE FOCUS I AIMS: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use past simple and past simple with Wish II LANGUAGE CONTENTS:  Grammar : - The Past Simple tense - Past simple with Wish  Vocabulary : III TEACHING AIDS: - Posters, pictures, textbook IV PROCEDURES: CONTENTS TECHNIQUES Warm up: (5’)  Pelmanism:  Revision: The Past form of irregular verb - Teacher divides the students into two teams and asks them to choose two numbers + Students choose two numbers - Teacher turns over the cards and sees if they match e.g: go _ went If not, teacher turns the cards face down again and asks the other team to choose Continue until all the cards are turned over go went see saw buy bought hang make made Practice: (15’) 1) Work with a partner Ask and answer questions about what each person did on the weekend (P 11) S1: What did Ba on the weekend? S2: He went to see the movie called “Ghosts and Monsters” S1: When did he see it? S2: He saw it on Saturday afternoon at o’clock  The simple past tense S + V (2 / ed) - Teacher reminds the use of the past simple tense and the formation of the past simple tense + Students read the conversation in the text book + Work in pairs - Teacher asks the students to make questions and answers about what Ba, Nga, Lan, Nam and Hoa did on the weekend + Students work in pairs S1: What did Nga on the weekend? S2: She went to the concert performed by Ha Noi singers  Students work in pairs to ask and answer questions about what Ba, Nga, Lan, Nam and S1: When did she go?
