Kitchen Towel • Paper was invented for writing purpose by an official named Tsai Lun in 105, China. • The first mass toilet roll paper tissue production was recorded in 1391, China for used by The Emperor. • Joseph Gayetty - The first packaged bathroom was produced in US in 1857. • About 500 years later, the American started to produce toilet paper commercially. 1. Logs are cut into small wood chips. 2. The Woods Chips are transformed into Pulp, by mechanical and mechanical pulping. 3. The pulp is bleached, and mixed with a lot of Water to form the Slurry or Broke. 4. The slurry flows over a moving wire screen or Felt of the Paper Machine to form a sheet or paper. 5. The paper sheet is drained, dried, ironed, heated and finally rewound onto reels to form Jumbo Roll. • Tissue paper is the softest category of all paper. • To make it soft, paper fibers are spread so thin that it become obvious to the naked eyes. That’s why they are called Tissue paper. • Technically speaking, Tissue paper must have a basis weight not exceeding 20 gsm. • Today, Tissue paper comes in different forms as Bathroom tissue, Facial tissue, Napkin, Kitchen towel… * Hawaii : coconut shells * US : corn cobs , mussel shell, newspaper, leaves, sand, catalogue . * British Lords : pages from a book, discarded sheep’s wool * Europe : Straw , hay, grass * India : water and your left hand * Public restrooms in ancient Rome : A sponge soaked in water, on the end of stick. * The wealthy in Ancient Rome : wool and Rosewater * Eskimos : snow and tundra moss. ATTRIBUTES DESCRIPTION  Fiber Material The main raw material used in making tissue. Virgin Pulp is pure wood fiber which makes the softest tissue. Recycled Fiber are more environmentally friendly.  Basis Weight – measured in grams per square meter (gsm) The higher gsm, the thicker and heavier the tissue.  Ply– measured in no. of ply Sheets of Tissue stack together. The more ply, the stronger and thicker the tissue. Too many ply can also make the Tissue feel hard and less soft. ATTRIBUTES DESCRIPTION  Weight - measured in grams (g) Tissue Products are usually measured in grams (g) . When comparing the weight of tissue products, you can simply measure by holding the product in your hands.  Sheet Size – measured in centimeter by length x width (cm) The size of Sheet of Tissue Paper usually measure by length (cm) x width (cm). The Bigger is not always necessary the better, the Size should be made to be most convenient. Core Size – measured in centimeter by diameter (cm) Used in Bathroom, Multipurpose Towel and roll form Tissue Products. A big Core can make the Roll bigger but this means less paper. ATTRIBUTES DESCRIPTION  No. of sheets Quantity of the tissue product. Common measurement for Facial tissue, Pocket Tissue, Hankie, Napkin. In Roll Forms Tissue such as Bathroom Tissue, you can also measure the no. of sheets. Generally, the more sheets, the more time you can use.  Packaging – various measurement Quantity of packaging. For example, packs, rolls, boxes. However, you should generally refer to the units that is offered for sell (by carrier) e.g. 10 Rolls per Carrier, 10 Packs, Boxes etc. ATTRIBUTES DESCRIPTION  Embossing The Patterns on the tissue.
