DEL/DEM weighfeeder can automatically adjust flow rate to a setpoint by predetermined program according to desired feeding quantity. It can continuously convey bulk material and also feed in a constant rate with automatic measuring and totalizing. DEL/DEM weighfeeder is an ideal equipment for the proportioning and weighing of bulk material with good accuracy, wide adaptability, long-term stability, and high reliability, especially normal performance in poor conditions. It can be widely used in cement, building materials, metallurgic, mineral, chemical, chemical fertilizer and grain food industry etc. Weighfeeder provides advanced technical methods for increasing product quality, saving energy and improving automation level for the system. DEL/DEM weighfeeder is an integration of machinery, electronics and instruments. It can be controlled by instrument keyboard, serial interface, analog input and also automatically controllefd by a high computer. DEL/DEM Operation Manual LIONCH 5 3. Working Principle 3.1 Measuring Principle A belt weigher continously weighs the amount of material transported on a conveyor belt. Belt Load The material is guided over a platform arranged below the belt and limited by one carrying idlers.The platform load applies a force on load L/C via weighed idler. Deflection for measurement is approx. 0.2mm. The weighed idler are connected to the frame structure, e.g. by a leaf spring parallel system. Being proportional to platform load, the load cell output voltage is amplified and routed to the INTECONT microprocessor with the aid of an analog/digital converter. The white triangle indicates the distribution of load on a single-idler weighing platform. Only half of the material weight force is applied to the weighed idler. In weighing technology, the load relation is normally converted into belt length. L eff = 2 Lg Thus belt load in kg/m is as under. Q = Leff QB Belt Speed As further measure for feed rate, belt speed V is acquired by speed transducer and converted into the respective pulse frequency. Feed rate Measured values Q and V are normalized by the INTECONT to physical magnitudes kg/m and m/s and multiplied with one another. The result is fede rate I. I = Q·V = Leff QB ·V·3.6 3.2 Control Process A conveyor belt extracts material from surge bin. Setpoint W and actual fede rate P are compared, the difference, routed to controller R. Controller keeps varying belt speed until actual value equals setpoint. 3.3 Operating Modes 3.3.1 Gravmetric Normal controlled mode. See 3.2 3.3.2 Volumetric Uncontrolled mode, belt speed is controlled in proportion to setpoint. The measured feed rate is not considered. Both modes are selected in the dialog mode. 3.4 Speed Control Two modes are adopted to control the speed: DC volts adjusting mode and AC frequency-converting mode. 3.4.1 DC Volts Adjusting Mode In this mode, the belt speed is adjusted by changing the voltages of DC motor’s armatures so as to adjust the motor speed. It has advantages of precise speed adjustment, good mechanism, big start torsion. But the mode is basically out of use for its disadvantages of consuming too much power and wanting too much maintenance. 3.4.2 AC Frequency-Converting Mode In this mode, the belt speed is adjusted by changing the power frequency of AC motor so as to adjust the motor speed. It has advantages of consuming less power and less maintenance. Structure 4.1 Constitute of System The system consists of mechanical and electrical parts. The mechanical parts includes weighing scale, governor motor, gear box and hopper. The electrical parts includes control cabinet and electrical elements used for local control. The control cabinet includes control meter, air switch, wiring points and frequency-converting governor or DC governor. The electrical elements includes load cell, speed sensor, belt limit switch, connection box and local control box. 4.2 The Structure of Electrical 4.2.1 Control Meter The meter is advanced LCCONT PLUS 403.
