Yes, S + am/is/are No, S + am/is/are + not Are they teachers? Yes, they are No, they aren’t 2. Quy tắc thêm _s/_es vào sau động từ khi chủ từ ở ngôi thứ ba số ít a. Thêm _s vào sau hầu hết các động từ I work > He works You learn > She learns We buy > He buys They ride > She rides b. Thêm _es vào các động từ tận cùng bằng _ch, _sh, _s, _x và _z I watch > He watches You pass > She passes We wish > He wishes They relax > She relaxes c. Nếu tận cùng động từ là “_y” đổi thành “_i” rồi thêm _es vào I study > She studies You hurry > He hurries Note: nếu tận là “_y”, đứng trước “_y” là 1 nguyên âm thì ta chỉ thêm _s I play > She plays We enjoy > He enjoys d. Cách thành lập thì quá khứ đối với động từ có quy tắc a. Thêm _ed vào sau động từ tận cùng là 1 phụ âm return > returned , help > helped, learn > learned b. Tận cùng động từ là “_e” ta chỉ thêm “_d” live > lived, die > died c. Tận cùng động từ là “_y” ta đổi thành “_i” rồi thêm “_ed” worry > worried, study > studied, carry > carried d. Đối với động từ có 1 âm tiết, ta gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm “_ed” hop > hopped, rub > rubbed Note: nếu phụ âm cuối là w, x hoặc y ta không gấp đôi Bow > bowed, Mix > mixed, Play > played e.
