I have been appointed HR Manager to Viettel and the CEO who appointed me has asked me to focus your energies on setting up group and team activities as much as possible. She knows you share her views on how effective teams can be powerful force in any organization. 1 Task 1: Why groups/ team structure can work well In Vietnam, Viettel is a company has young year old compare with other company, such vinaphone, mobiphone, etc. However, development of Viettel is getting more and stronger in the telecom market. To successful, Viettel has groups/teams structure of Viettel, which has work well with some reasons: First of all, Viettel is decentralizationstructure; therefore; leader’s duty in Viettel is very important in groups/teamLeader of groups whoguides the discussion and problem solving. Leader always take note idea, which is way to choose suitable member and make good relationship with other member and all members each others. Therefore, he or she knows how to lead members in group to successful. Therefore, Sencondly, duty and awareness of each member decide their work’s quality. When they work with full energy and responsibility, their half work isalready finished; additionally; the knowledge of employees make the success of Viettel group/teams. Task 2: What departments you believe group activities will work well. Having success of Viettel, all departments in company must do well; however; with HR manager position, I think thatService center department will work best because Viettel is 2 company which is belong to service of telephone. This department directly works with customers, they know what customers need. Viettel have to invest training for employee’s skills which is steps of service, such as saying hello, asking customers, etc. Because Viettel’s scale are significant large; thus; Viettel’s service use not only on the mobiphone but also office representative. • Service on the mobiphone. It is way help customers use best feature of phone. For example, customer can use service by mobiphone, such as 199 messages, mobiphone switbroad, etc. • Srvice by direct. Customers come the office of Viettel to repair their mobiphone and sim card, etc. Task 3: how would you set up group structure? Before, I set up group; I need to know what is need for group and the function of group. Giving the name of group bring special things (Service center department). Then, I decide member who are suitable the group’s purpose.For example, he /she is speake with grace.Beside, I can create groups for department roles, such as, sales, engineering, finance, and marketing because roles are a way to maintain groups/team working well. However, setting group also depend on Geography. I can create group base on the offices, cities, states, regions, or countries. Therefore, my group is set up at Hanoi city where the need of customers is higher than other cities. Finally, I also create groups base on a combination of criteria, such as the function and the role. Task 4: What initial training would you provide for groups prior to they starting activities? Training groups (T- groups) is the need before starting. Training groups are often used to develop individual’s awareness of how they behave in relation to others, and particularly within a team. With Service center group, members need to know steps’ service. For example: • The first step is saying hello with customers. • The second step is asking what customers need. • The third step is guiding customers, etc. Form requirement of service center group, member will improve their skills. However, 3 member also need to note that energy are very important in process working because member can’t work each step with low energy, which make customers be unsatisfied. Task 5: What signals would you be looking for, as you review each group activities, to measure group effectiveness? Eachgroup has different function. To measure group effectiveness, I think that there are the important twopoints. Firstly, group effectiveness achieves its task objectives. Theresult of objective show that what they do, how they do with high level. Moreover, the success of task mean that they do the purpose well, which give target and done well. Secondly, members in group maintains co-operative working through the satisfaction and interrelationships of its. The relationship of members in group is the most important motivation to everybody does well. Everybody in group share idea, skills, etc which help member each other. The attitudes of member are satisfactify. With service center department, the relationship of member in group is more and more important because they have to communicate with a lot of customers. Therefore, relationship of members is best way to make relationship with customers. Task 6: What action would you take to assist non-effective groups? A non- effective group show that theresult of task is not completely. Their target is broken. Therefore, I want them to know what the point they fall was. From this point, every member improve mistake. All member share new idea, which must enhance the understanding of the roles and goals’ group. Maybe, they can give other target of task and rework their task. However, when they rework, the motivation is need for them. It is time for leader to motivate and control work. Task 7: How would you address the special issue for employees in the field who do not come to an office but nevertheless could still be more effective working as teams? A member never comes to an office but he can do well. It means that he is good ability. However, I think that each group also has special roles. When people work in group, people share idea, improve skills, each other. It is skill of group working. Therefore, if he does not come to office, he can not share his idea and listen to other members. He have ability, he can help other member to work effectively. Therefore, my solution is that I will motivate him work together. I point out that other member need his help to work better because we are a group. Moreover, he can open comminication between members. 4 Conclusion In this assessment, I show how individuals behave in and in ralation to other individuals. Each member behave differently in a group.
