What are phrasal verbs?
Phrasal verbs are combinations of verb + adverb or verb + preposition so as to obtain to get a variety of meanings
e g: look for = search for, seek look out = beware give up = abandon
You need not try to decide whether the combination is verb + adverb or verb + preposition, but should consider the
expression as a whole
EXERCISE 1: Replace the words in brackets in the following sentences with a suitable phrasal verb Make any other necessary changes
1) The trouble with Frank is that he never (arrives) _ on time for meetings
