Past progressive tense (Quá khứ tiếp diễn)

Form: was/were + verb-ing

Use: Indicate an action that was in

progress at a certain point of time in the past (Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra tại

một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ)

Example: I was doing my homework

at seven o’clock last night.

I was watching TV when the phone rang.

While I was watching TV , the phone rang.

Use:

Express an action taking place in the past When another took place (Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra trong quá khứ thì có một hành động khác xen vào)
