Date of preparing: 03/04/2010 Date of teaching: 05/04/2010 UNIT 6: GO SHOPPING Lesson 2: Sing it! I.Aim of the lesson: By the end of the lesson, Ss can say what they are wearing. II.Languege focus: -Grammar: I’m wearing blue shorts. Me too / Not me. -Vocabulary: T-shirt, shorts, skirt, shoes, socks. III.Skills: Listening and speaking. IV.Teaching aids: CD, the student book, the activity book, real objects ( T-shirt, shorts, skirt, shoes, socks), picture cards. V.Procedure: procedure Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Warm-up (5mins) -Greetings. -Sing the 1,2,3, I like orange song. Encourage ss to sing and do the actions follow. -Review clothing items and colors by holding real objects up and asking some questions in each item: What is this? What color is it? Greetings Sing the 1,2,3, I like orange song and do the actions follow. Look at the clothing items and answer the teacher’s questions. Give remarks. Presentation (10mins) -Talk about what T is wearing. Point to something T is wearing. Eg, T says: T-shirt, a blue T-shirt (repeat 3times).Have ss repeat after T. -Continue, T says: I’m wearing a blue T-shirt.( repeat twice). -Look for a child wearing a blue T- shirt. Let he/she say: I’m wearing a blue T-shirt.T touches the own shirt again and says: Me too! Let ss who wearing the same clothing say: Me too! -Choose 2 ss wearing similar items of clothing to stand up.Have one child say: I’m wearing red/pink skirt. The second child says: Me too! -T points to the own pants and shakes the head, says: Not me! Let ss who aren’t wearing red/pink skirt says: Not me! Look at the blue T-shirt T is wearing and repeat: T-shirt, a blue T-shirt. Stand up and repeat: I’m wearing a blue T-shirt. Ss wearing the blue T-shirt say: Me too! 2 ss stand up: One child says: I’m wearing red/pink skirt. The second says: Me too! Ss who aren’t wearing red/pink skirt says: Not me! Controlled- practice (15mins) -T asks individual children: What are you wearing? Help them to answer about items they have on. -Encourage others in the class say: Me too/ Not me. -Have them open the book at page 44. -T asks some questions about what is going on in the picture:What is the blue/yellow/monster wearing? Baby green monter? -Play CD.Let ss listen and point the monsters who are talking. -Continue the tape, have ss repeat the dialog with their voices. -Play I’m wearing blue shorts song (twice). Let ss point to the picture. -Play the song again, encourage them to sing along and do the actions. Answer the questions: I’m wearing… The other ss say: Me too! If they are wearing the same item. Say Not me if they aren’t wearing the item. Look at the picture at page 44. Aswer the questions about the monsters in the picture. Give remarks Listen to the tape and point to the monsters who are talking. Listen and repeat the dialog. Listen to the song and point to the picture. Sing the song aloud and do the actions with T. Feed-back (8mins) -T asks some ss : What are you wearing? Have ss say what they are wearing. Encourage other ss to say: Me too! or Not me! -Give remarks. Stand up and say what they are wearing: I’m wearing… The other ss say: Me too!/ Not me! Give remarks. Further- practice (17mins) -Give each child a photo of clothing items. Guide them to color each item a different color.And then play a game: Let’s go shopping! -Introduce the game:Have ss act as sales people for clothing items. T will be the buyer.T goes around, asks for a clothing item from the sales people. Eg, T asks: yellow T-shirt/red shoes…, please!-Let ss who have that item say: Yes, yellow T-shirt/red shoes…-At the end of the game, have ss say what they have solen and haven’t solen yet. -Give remarks. Listen to the guide Color each item a different color. Take part in the game: All children will be the sales people. Say: Yes, yellow T-shirt/red shoes if they have the item T asked. Say what they have solen and what they haven’t solen yet. Homework (5mins) -Guide ss to do exercise color it! At page 37 (Activity) Give each child a photo of exercise, ask ss to color each item a different color. Listen to the teacher’s guide: Color each item a different color. .
