Các nguyên tố nhóm IIA được gọi là kim loại kiềm thổ:

• Chúng có tính chất trung gian giữa các chất kiềm (oxide của các kim loại

kiềm) và oxide cuả các kim loại đất hiếm như xeri (Ce), erbi (Er)…

• Các oxide của chúng có nhiệt độ nóng chảy cao, độ tan bé, khi tan trong nước tạo dung dịch kiềm.

Vì sao gọi các kim loại nhóm IIA là kim loại kiềm thổ?

Tính chất đặc trưng của kim loại kiềm thổ

• Kim loại kiềm thổ có cấu hình electron

So sánh bán kính, năng lượng ion hóa, ĐÂĐ của các kim loại kiềm thổ từ Be đến Ra

• Bán kính nguyên tử tăng dần

Vì : số lớp electron tăng khi đi từ trên xuống dưới trong bảng tuần hoàn làm cho bán kính nguyên tử tăng

• Năng lượng ion hóa giảm dần

Vì : khi bán kính nguyên tử tăng, electron

xa hạt nhân hơn do đó dễ bị loại bỏ năng lượng hơn

• Độ âm điện giảm dần Vì: nguyên tử có bán kính lớn sẽ có độ âm điện thấp hơn vì lực hút giữa hạt nhân và electron xa hơn sẽ yếu đi

• Kim loại kiềm thổ có nhiệt độ nóng chảy, nhiệt độ sôi, tỉ khối cao hơn so với kim loại kiềm

Tính chất vật lý

• Trừ Be và Mg, các kim loại nhóm IIA

khác và hợp chất dễ bay hơi của chúng

cũng nhuốm màu ngọn lửa

• Ca: đỏ da cam, Sr: đỏ son, Ba: lục hơi

vàng, Ra: đỏ thẩm

Nhận xét : Các tính chất vật lí của kim loại kiềm thổ có sự

biến đổi một cách tuần hoàn bởi vì:

+ Bán kính nguyên tử tăng dần từ Be đến Ra + Nhiệt độ nóng chảy và nhiệt độ sôi có xu hướng giảm dần từ

Be đến Ra + Độ cứng giảm từ Be đến Ra

So sánh kim loại kiềm và kim loại

Thấp hơn Cao hơn

Khối lượng riêng Thấp hơn Cao hơn

Tính chất hóa học đặc trưng của kim loại kiềm thổ:

Nước cứng:

● Khái niệm: Là loại nước chứa hàm lượng

chất khoáng cao, được hình thành khi nước ngầm thấm qua những lớp đá vôi, đá phấn, hoặc thạch cao.

● Phân loại: Gồm 3 loại

- Nước cứng tạm thời.

- Nước cứng vĩnh cửu.

- Nước cứng toàn phần

Tác hại của nước cứng:

- Đối với sức khoẻ:

+ Sử dụng nước cứng lâu ngày → sỏi thận, sỏi tiết niệu hoặc làm tắc thành trọng của động mạch, tĩnh mạch do đóng cặn vôi gây nguy hiểm đến sức khỏe.

+ Gây rụng tóc, phai màu tóc nếu nhuộm + Tóc khô xơ, mất độ mềm mại

+ Gây khô da, nổi mụn do nước cứng có thể không thể rửa trôi được bọt sữa rửa mặt có thể khiến da bị kích ứng, có thể gây mẩn ngứa, nổi mụn trên da, ảnh

hưởng tới vẻ ngoài, giảm độ tự tin.

Tác hại của nước cứng:

- Đối với cuộc sống thường ngày:

+ Nước cứng sẽ làm mất vị ngon ngọt tự nhiên của thực phẩm khi chế biến, làm giảm thời gian đun nấu chín và giảm chất dinh dưỡng

+ Đặc biệt, nước uống sẽ có vị tanh nồng

→ thay đổi rõ rệt màu sắc, mùi vị của sữa,

cà phê, trà… làm các loại này có màu đậm hơn, ít ngọt và ít thơm, tạo ra vị chát.

+ Không chỉ thế, ấm đun nước, cốc chén sẽ

có cặn bám thành mảng rất khó vệ sinh.

Nước cứng:

- Cách làm mềm nước cứng:

+ Làm mềm nước bằng hóa chất: sử dụng các loại hóa chất khác nhau được đưa vào nước để kết hợp với ion Ca2+ và Mg2+ tạo thành các dạng hợp chất không tan.

+ Phương pháp nhiệt: đun nóng hoặc

chưng cất nước.

+ Phương pháp trao đổi ion.

+ Phương pháp tổng hợp: là phương pháp phối hợp 2 trong 3 phương pháp trên.

+ Lọc qua màng bán thấm, thẩm thấu

ngược (RO).

Canxi (Ca):

- Vai trò của canxi trong cơ thể: Canxi là

khoáng chất thiết yếu cho cơ thể, đóng vai trò quan trọng trong nhiều chức năng quan trọng bao gồm:

+ Hệ xương và răng: Canxi là thành phần chính của xương và răng → chắc khỏe và phát triển bình thường.

+ Hệ thần kinh: Canxi tham gia vào quá trình dẫn truyền tín hiệu thần kinh, giúp cơ bắp co bóp và điều hòa nhịp tim.

+ Hệ thống miễn dịch: Tăng cường hệ miễn dịch, chống lại các tác nhân gây bệnh.

+ Quá trình đông máu: Ngăn ngừa chảy máu quá nhiều

Canxi (Ca):

- Ảnh hưởng của việc thiếu và thừa canxi:

+ Thiếu canxi:

Trẻ em: Còi xương, chậm phát triển,

răng mọc không đều, dễ bị chuột rút.

Người lớn: Loãng xương, đau nhức

xương khớp, chuột rút, tê bì chân tay.

Phụ nữ mang thai: Dạ dày co bóp yếu,

chuột rút, loãng xương + Thừa canxi:

Sỏi thận, sỏi mật, táo bón, buồn nôn,

nôn.

Gây rối loạn nhịp tim, cao huyết áp.

Ứ đọng canxi trong mô mềm, ảnh hưởng

đến chức năng của các cơ quan.

- Lưu ý khi bổ sung canxi hằng ngày:

+ Liều lượng: Bổ sung canxi theo

nhu cầu khuyến nghị của từng độ tuổi.

+ Thời điểm: Uống canxi sau bữa ăn

để tăng khả năng hấp thu.

+ Kết hợp với vitamin D: Vitamin D

giúp cơ thể hấp thu canxi tốt hơn.

+ Tránh sử dụng các chất kích thích:

rượu bia, cà phê, thuốc lá cản trở quá

trình hấp thu canxi.

- Lưu ý khi sử dụng thuốc: Một số loại

thuốc có thể ảnh hưởng đến hấp thu

canxi.
