Trang 41 Introduction The evolution of technology 4.0, along with the social milieu created by the Covid-19 epidemic, has rendered technology an indispensable element of people's life Short-form video-sharing services (SVSs), according to Alexander Ambalov (2022), have gained in popularity in recent years Some data shows that SVSs are addictive and appealing to a large audience since users
may rapidly and easily generate and consume on-demand content TikTok, in particular, has
become one of the most popular Social Networking Services (SNS) globally (Joseph Lobo,2022) TikTok is one of several social networks that enable members to make and share
short films TikTok, founded by Truong Nhat Minh, debuted in China in 2016 under the name
Douyin TikTok began to be developed in foreign markets in 2017, swiftly becoming famous globally (What is TikTok?, 2021) TikTok has had a lot of success connecting with young people all around the world TikTok users aged 16-24 account for 41% of the total (Globalwebindex, 2019) TikTok has become a part of Gen Z's everyday routine As a result, it is clear that this application has a wide-ranging impact TikTok has emerged as a viable educational platform in recent years, attracting a large number of young people by providing them with timely and relevant information via short videos with targeted content However, utilizing Tiktok frequently would scarcely prevent young people from being bombarded with misleading information
As the majority of TikTok users are students and in order to approach these TikTok users, an investigation about the using TikTok habit of youth needed to be carried out To gain a better understanding of this issue, we conducted an inquiry titled "The TikTok habit of K21 FMT students," with the goal of learning how K21 FMT students at Hanoi University use TikTok It is intended that this study would assist K21 FMT students in particular, as well as students in general, in developing a good habit of utilizing TikTok
1I Research methodology
1 Population and sample Social media, including TikTok, is seen as a crucial tool for studying, working, and enjoying in the Industry 4.0 age The K21 students at Hanoi University's Faculty of Management and Tourism (FMT) are the target population Our team surveyed K21 FMT students in HANU, who were included in the population, online to get the data for the report The primary goal of our team is to look into K21 FMT students' TikTok usage habits In order to conduct a survey and
Trang 5evaluate data for the full population, which would take more time and money, a sample of 50 students from K21 FMT pupils was randomly chosen
2 Questionare design
What's your name? What's your student ID?
What's your major?
Do you use Tik Tok? The reasons why you don't use Tik Tok? (only for those who dont use Tik Tok)
How much time do you spend on Tik Tok per day?
What time of the day do you mostly success Tik Tok?
What are your purposes for using Tik Tok? Which types of content do you like the most on Tik Tok?
Do you think that your time and your purpose when you access Tik Tok is reasonable?
If you find your time and purpose of using Tik Tok unreasonable, how do you want to change
your habit?
Do you find the contents on Tik Tok useful? Besides entertainment purposes, do you use Tik Tok to earn extra income through any of the following fields?
After accomplishing the questionnaire paper, our group used the website "random.org" to randomly select 50 K21 FMT students to find out their TikTok usage habits Our questionnaire consists of 13 questions They are constructed according to their own choice of our topic
Therefore, people can answer the survey easily
Looking into detail, the first 3 questions in our online survey aim to get the respondent's basic information, including name, student ID, and major, and the next 10 questions for in-depth investigation More about K21 FMT students' TikTok usage habits and data collection for observation and hypothesis testing The fourth and fifth questions asked whether the students
selected for the survey used TikTok or not, and if not, their reasons for not using it The next four
questions aim to get information about the time spent using TikTok, the purpose and type of videos they often watch on TikTok Meanwhile, the next 3 questions tell us K21 FMT's opinion
Trang 6on how they use and their evaluation of TikTok The last question tells us about ways for them to eam extra income using TikTok Our questions will hopefully provide valuable and practical
information for survey and evaluation
3 Sampling method and data collection 3.1 Sample size
After discussion, all members of the group agreed to select a sample of 50 K21 FMT students The selection of this number is reasonable and practical because of the generalizability of the report and the limited number of team members This number is large enough to get a clear and suitable ratio for our testing technique and it will give more accurate results On the contrary, if the sample size is too small, the coverage of students' opinions on the topic does not accurately reflect the actual situation of the total number of K21 FMT students, even in the implementation process, errors may appear leading to errors inaccurate conclusions However, if the sample size is too large, it will be more difficult and overwhelming for team members to aggregate and process all the data In summary, a sample size of 50 FMT students is the best fit Sample questions are presented in Appendix A of this report
3.2 Sample method
There are numerous sample techniques available to examine FMT students’ TikTok usage patterns However, given there are now about 436 K21 students enrolled in FMT at Hanoi University, which is a sizable amount, we choose to employ a straightforward random sampling approach with a sample size of 50 K21 students The respondents are chosen at random, and they are sent the link to take the survey just once The Appendix B of this report contains a list of the students who responded to our online form
3.3 Data collection The numbers required to conduct this research was gathered via sending an online survey over private Microsoft Teams chats In order to aid students in comprehending and applying the subject, this kind of inquiry is prepared using a Google form Because multiple choice questions are user-friendly and quick to complete, they make up the majority of the questions in our
Trang 7survey Because of this, practically all students are at ease and give passionate responses to the questionnaire
4, Data processing Our group utilizes Google Forms to process numbers online since it is hard to manually calculate the data due to the sheer volume of information This approach is practical because it converts the responses from the online poll into graphs and charts that are simple to comprehend and evaluate Inference and statistical description are the two components of our study For the first half, qualitative data is presented using bar charts and pie charts Hypothesis testing is the second step By hand, our group calculated statistical values including the standard deviation, sample
variance, and other metrics
5 Level of significance
The level of significance of our project is 0.05 because the sample size is quite small compared to the huge scale of the population
This section presents the findings from a survey of 50 K21 FMT students to learn more about their daily TikTok usage patterns We gather data regarding the number of K21 FMT students utilizing Tiktok via questionnaires
Trang 8Figure 1; The student use TikTok
According to Werner Geyser, TikTok is a video-sharing app that allows users to create and share short-form videos on any topic, was introduced in 2017 in foreign market Immediately, TikTok became extremely popular among young people, especially in the era of the Internet and the short-video trend is dominating the market
We did a study to learn more about the social media platform TikTok usage habits of K21 FMT students The findings are represented in the pie chart below There are only two categories: yes or no According to our survey, 90% of students use TikTok (45 students) and the remaining 10%
say they do not use this social network (5 students)

Number of Students
Trang 9When asked why the remaining 5 students did not use TikTok, the issue of learning distraction accounted for 80% of the considerations taken into account, meaning that 4 out of 5 students stated that this is the primary reason they don't use TikTok In addition, 40% of them chose
Tiktok’s excessive amount of hazardous content as their rationale Additionally, other explanations like using other social networks or believing that Tiktok has an impact on users’ psychological states were also mentioned in 20% of the responses Even though the number of users far outweighs the number of non-users, it cannot be denied that there are many reasons why some students do not use TikTok These reasons can stem from user subjectivity or concerns about the content that this social networking site offers
The answers of 45 students who opted to use TikTok in the survey's first question are the subject of the analysis that is provided below
@ Less than 1 hour @ 1 hour - 2 hours @ 2 hours - 3 hours A @ More than 3 hours
Figure 3; How much time do you spend on YouTube per day? Over 55% of students responded that they watch TikTok for 1-2 hours each day in response to the question, "How much time do you spend on TikTok per day?" And the percentage of students using TikTok for 2-3 hours is nearly 29% The percentage of pupils answering fell dramatically in the "Less than 1 hour" and "More than 3 hours" categories, with responses at 8.9% and 6.7%, respectively These data demonstrate that students' time of using TikTok differs for a number of reasons, which will be discussed in the following graphs and tables Figure 4 will show the time
of the day that they mostly access on TikTok
Trang 10Figure 4: What time of the day do you mostly access TikTok?
Looking at the specifics, students supposed that they visit TikTok most frequently during the evening and late at night, with 62.2% and 57.8%, respectively With a rate of 24.4%, 11 out of 45 students who provided information said they frequently use this social network in the afternoon
Only a very small percentage of students (11.1%) stated that they regularly watch TikTok in the
morning and early morning This variation may be the result of students’ lifestyle choices, particularly those of the GenZ age Young people frequently stay up late and get up late, and this tendency has probably had an impact on how they use social media, particularly TikTok
Figure 5: The purposes of using TikTok Shopping a=
Others °
The graph clearly shows that the majority of the K21 FMT students questioned (93.3%) utilize
TikTok for entertainment It is obvious that the demand for amusement will always be a
fundamental human need, and TikTok is progressively emerging as one of the social media
Trang 11platforms of choice to meet this need due to its practicality TikTok offers a wide variety of
entertainment options today You may watch quick videos, follow popular trends, or create your own films using the app's filters and upload them We shall delve deeper into the most popular forms of entertainment on this platform in the next survey question
Additionally, more than 50% of respondents said that they use TikTok to watch the news and to reduce stress for themselves Next, for the purposes of learning and shopping, 15 and 14 answers
came from students, respectively, accounting for 33.3% and 31.1% Working and seeking health
information are not seen to be students' primary motivations for utilizing TikTok; these two activities only represent 8.9% and 15.6% of the students polled, respectively
Figure 6: Which types of content do you like the most on TikTok?
Next, the fields of music, fashion, and lifestyle are also chosen by more than 50% of K21 FMT
students The least-accessed content categories are those related to healing content and gaming video, with only 2.2%, equivalent to 1 answer, and sports with 2 responses of students The ratio of responses from FMT students for the remaining subject kinds has a fairly uniform ratio, ranging from 10 to 20 answers
The information above demonstrates that the type of content that K21 FMT students love on the TikTok platform is quite diverse Because TikTok is known as a platform that provides a lot of
Trang 12short videos with rich content and a very accessible interface to use, maybe that's the reason why K21 FMT students choose TikTok to use
TikTok

reasonable? Specifically, up to 89% of K21 FMT students are aware that the time and purpose of using
TikTok are reasonable Besides, there are still a few students who think that they are wasting
their time and are using this platform for an illegitimate purpose In order to better understand how K21 FMT students approach changing their TikTok usage habits, we kept conducting survey question And the outcome of our investigation is the bar chart
