I THEORETICAL BACKGROUND 1.1 Concept of delivery service

A supply chain consists of all parties (manufacturers, suppliers, transporters, warehouses, retailers, and customers) and, within each organization, all the functions involved, directly or indirectly, in fulfilling a customer request (Chopra

and Meindl 2010)

1.2 Classification of delivery in Logistics activities

Freight forwarding is a type of Logistics activity, in which delivery scheduling activities and order management include the following types:

Firstly, by mode of transport forwarding by sea: They use ships to transport goods, which is the most popular mode of transport today in international trade

Secondly, delivery by air: This is a method of delivering import and export goods Use an airplane as a means of transport Usually used for valuable goods of large, small volume, short shelf life or require special storage

Delivery by road - rail: A form of using vehicles Surface transportation transports goods to the land border between two countries

Next, Multimodal transport (MTO): Is a combined mode of transport of many different means of transport, the purpose is to optimize costs and transport time transfer

According to business operations, including pure delivery and general forwarding About pure delivery which includes only the sending of goods or receiving incoming goods And about general forwarding is a freight forwarding activity including all activities such as loading and unloading, storage, transportation, etc

1.3 The importance of freight forwarding services

In the modern era, when the world becomes increasingly connected and globalized, the importance of freight forwarding services cannot be overlooked This service is not simply about moving goods from point A to point B but also plays a decisive role in the development of many industries and international trade The manufacturing strategy literature has identified a number of manufacturing- related dimensions on which firms may compete These competitive dimensions, which have been labeled “competitive priorities” in the literature, can include cost, quality, flexibility, and delivery performance among others (Corbett, C and Van Wassenhove, L, 1993) From a strategy perspective, these competitive priorities can be viewed as the objectives of the firm’s manufacturing strategy From here it can be seen that to be successful in the modern world, understanding and using this service effectively is indispensable

First, freight forwarding services help optimize the delivery process, from choosing the appropriate means of transportation such as road, sea, or air to route optimization and cost management fee Thanks to their in-depth understanding of the transportation industry, forwarding professionals are able to make smart decisions to save time and resources This not only helps businesses reduce their workload but also creates favorable conditions for sustainable development

Fourly, freight forwarding services also help promote international trade Thanks to a large international network and understanding of different markets and countries, businesses can expand their markets and create opportunities to export and import goods This promotes economic development both domestically and internationally

and transparency through digitalization, as well as easier integration with customers through digital interfaces, yielding an opportunity for those parties moving up the value chain and selling directly to their customers, while the arbitrageur without the actual capability will not be able to survive (Abrahamsson 2016) This effect is lastly the reason why digitalization has moved slowly in the logistics industry so far, as many business models are still based on information arbitrage and have no impetus to change

Omnichannel — the selling and buying through a multitude of channels

The sales channels for logistics services, which used to be mainly personal and either in the country of origin or destination, are now changing and increasingly becoming more diverse Virtualization — internationalization, global expansion, and interaction

2.4.1 General organizational structure of Viettel Post

Viettel Post operates according to a governance model including: General Meeting of Shareholders, Board of Management, and Board of Supervisors and General Director

According to Annual report of Viettel Post in 2022 (ViettelPost, Bao cao tai chinh nam 2022, 2023), management apparatus structure in 2022 is as follows

This organizational structure shows the hierarchy and relationships between departments and units within Viettel Post Agencies and departments are organized to perform specific tasks and support the company's business activities

2.4.2 Function of each department and relationship

General Meeting of Shareholders: As the company's highest-level body, the general meeting of shareholders holds meetings to pass important decisions on the company's strategy and general management The General Meeting of Shareholders includes all shareholders (or representatives of shareholders) with voting rights of the Corporation This is the final decision-making body and directs the Board of Directors and the Board of General Directors

Board of Management: The Board of Directors is responsible for implementing the decisions of the General Meeting of Shareholders and managing the company's daily activities The Board of Directors provides guidance to the Board of Directors and other departments within the company

Board of General Directors: Support the Board of Directors and the Board of General Directors in performing the company's daily management and operations tasks This office is a support department and works closely with the Board of Directors and Board of General Directors

Corporation agencies: is the highest level of management in the organization, managing and supervising other units and branches of the Corporation This department ensures consensus and cooperation between units and branches The Board of Supervisor ensures compliance with regulations and laws related to the company's operations and performs inspection and supervision of financial content and business operations

The subordinate units: Each affiliated unit performs specific tasks such as fulfillment business, information technology, delivery business, delivery operations, and customer service These units are closely related to the Board of Directors and may need to cooperate with other departments to carry out their duties

The dependent accounting block: Provides supporting accounting services to units within the organization, such as financial management, labor organization, legal, and marketing-communications This block supports and provides information to other units in the company to ensure smooth operations
