Vietnam has built a strong reputation as an exporter of machinery to Côte d'Ivoire for many years – so much so that this African nation now counts Vietnam as one of its key commercial partners Vietnam's superior quality machinery ranging from computers to smart devices, alongside agricultural and construction equipment, has earned it a revered status in the Ivorian market With a heavy reliance on machinery in the manufacturing, construction, and agriculture sectors, Côte d'Ivoire is well-suited to benefit from the Vietnamese expertise in producing such goods This mutually-beneficial relationship not only aids in promoting Vietnamese manufacturing but also strengthens economic ties between both nations

1 ABOUT THE MARKET

1.1 Diplomatic and political relations between Cote d'Ivoire and Vietnam.

Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire (also known as the Ivory Coast or the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire) is a country located in West Africa.

Vietnam and Cote d'Ivoire established diplomatic relations on October 6, 1975 We are pleased to see significant progress in the bilateral relationship through increased high-level and multilevel exchanges, as well as effective implementation of mutual cooperation mechanisms.

Cote d'Ivoire has sent several high-level delegations to visit Vietnam, including the Minister in charge of investment promotion (2018), the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Secretary-General of the President's Office, and the Minister of Digital Economy (2019), the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2019), and the President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Employers (2022) Vietnam has also sent delegations, including the Head of the Central Committee's Propaganda and Education Board (6/2019) and the Deputy Prime Minister (11/2019), to visit Cote d'Ivoire.

The two countries regularly coordinate and support each other in international forums, notably Cote d'Ivoire's support for Vietnam's membership in the United Nations Human Rights Council during the 2014-2016 and 2023-2025 terms, as well as the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 term.

The Communist Party of Vietnam maintains relations with the ruling RHDP party and the opposition parties FPI and PDCI-RDA of Cote d'Ivoire Friendship and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries are also promoted primarily through meetings, contacts, and mutual support in multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the French-speaking Parliamentary Union (APF).

As the second largest trading partner of Vietnam in Africa and the fourth largest export market on the continent, with a trade turnover of 1.04 billion USD in 2022, Cote d'Ivoire has great potential to enhance cooperation with Vietnam.

1.2 Economic relations between two countries
