THE PRESENT COUNTINOUS (Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn) 1.CẤU TRÚC

(+) S + am/is/are + V-ing …

I am not studying English

She/He/It isn’t eating Pho

You/We/They are studying English.

(-) S + am/ is/ are + not + V-ing

(?) Am/Is/Are + S + V- ing….?

2 CÁCH DÙNG & DẤU HIỆU:

a Hành động nói chung đang diễn ra nhưng không nhất thiết phải thực sự diễn ra ngay lúc nói

>>> now, right now, at present, at the moment, at this time, today,

….

Ex: The children are playing footbal now

b.Diễn tả sự việc sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai theo kế hoạch cố định

>>> Có sắp đặt chắc chắn, thường đi kèm với các động từ chỉ sự di chuyển go, come, leave, move, travel, fly, arrive

>>>> Kèm theo các trạng ngữ chỉ thời gian: tonight, tomorrow, this

year, this season,…

Ex: I am flying to New York tomorrow

c.Diễn tả hành động thường xuyên xảy ra gây khó chịu

>>> (always, constantly, frequently, continually,…)

Ex: She is always singing at midnight

d.Hành động đang diễn ra ngay lúc nói

>>> Be careful! Look!, Listen!, Hurry up!,…

Ex: Look! She is dancing in the stage

e.Diễn tả hành động mang tính tạm thời, thường đi kèm với các trạng ngữ:

>>>> today,these days, this week,…

Ex: I usually start work at 7 o’clock, but for this week only I’m starting at 8 o’clock

3 CÁCH THÊM V-ING

-Động từ tận cùng là “-e”  bỏ “-e” rồi thêm “-ing”

Ex: come  coming, but see  seeing, free  freeing

-Động từ tận cùng “-ie”  chuyển “-ie” thành “-y” rồi thêm “ing”

Ex: lie lying, die  dying

-Động từ đuội “-ic”  thêm “-k” rồi thêm đuôi “-ing”

Ex: traffic  trafficking, panic  panicking

-Động từ tận cùng bẳng một phụ âm + y  thêm “ing”

Ex: try  trying , reply  replying

-Động từ Verb 1 vần tận cùng 1 phụ âm (ngoại trừ w, h, y, x) trước 1 nguyên

âm , gấp đôi âm cuối:

sit  sitting

-Động từ Verb 2 vần, trọng âm nhấn vần 2 gấp đội phụ âm cuối ( vần thứ 2 phải thỏa mãn trường hợp 4)

Ex: begin  beginning, prefer  preferring, but suffer  suffering
