The term “advertisement” can be defined in various ways According to Cambridge Dictionary, an advertisement is “a picture, short film, song, etc that tries to persuade people to buy a product or service” Merriam-Webster considers an advertisement “a paid notice that is published or broadcast as to attract customers or to provide information of public interest” Another definition is from Philip Kotler - the “father of modern marketing”, an American marketing author, consultant, and professor emeritus He refers to an advertisement to "any paid form of non-personal presentation and promotion of ideas, goods, and services through mass media such as newspapers, magazines, television, or radio by an identified sponsor."
