This internship report encapsulates my invaluable experiences and learning outcomes gained during my internship at FTC FORWARDING TRANSPORTATION AND CONSTRUCTION., JSC, a prominent company in the logistics industry My time spent

1 Transportation and Freight Forwarding

Since the company has established, it has developed signifcantly in speacialized routes transportation: within Vietnam (from Hanoi Haiphong Ho Chi Minh City Can Tho); from Vietnam to Southeast Asia regions (Singapore, Japan, Korea), and to Europe

- Transport goods from Vietnam to countries and vice versa

As a trusted partner of airlines including VN Airlines, Vietjet, Malaysian Airlines, Thaiairway, Pacific Airlines

most reasonable and competitive price:

- International cargo transportation, from shipper's warehouse/airport to receiver's warehouse/airport;

- Packaging and labeling;

- Customs clearance, domestic delivery;

- Customs brokerage;

- Cargo distribution; and

- Freight forwarding and contracts with multiple airlines worldwide

FTC carries out delivery and transportation of import and export goods through international ports in Vietnam Main sea services include: Importing and exporting cargo; consolidation of export cargo; breakbulk cargo for export; door-to-door delivery; and cargo insurance brokerage

Railway transport has always been the lifeblood of the economy With the advantage of specialized and low-cost railway transport, along with the railway connection system, FTC provides North - South railway transport services, professional loading and unloading teams at both ends of Song Than station and Giap Bat station, Yen Vien

2 Import and Export Management

FTC has employees who are well-trained, experienced and have high expertise The company provides customers with services related to importing and exporting: Customs Brokerage and Procedures; Export-Import Consultancy; Industry-Specific Inspections; and Outsourced Export-Import Management

FTC leases general warehouses, factory warehouses, logistics warehouses, cold storage, cold storage with flexible area and time according to customer requirements, can increase or decrease according to season or production situation, enterprise's business Flexible warehouse area from 5m3 In addition, loading and unloading personnel, accounting, goods management, forklifts, packaging services, warranty stamping are also integrated

Established in 1997, FTC has also specialized in providing intergrated logistics ICD services It owns a large logistics land fund, operates a variety of warehouses such as regular warehouses, bonded warehouses, and chemical warehouses with a total scale of 100,000 m2 in Hai Phong, Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho It provides comprehensive logistics services including receiving, transport, storage, customs procedures, customer consultation, packaging, coding, and delivery

FTC also focuses on Construction by investing in the capability of equipment, a team of officers, engineers, and workers with professional qualifications and in-depth knowledge Thanks to that, FTC has mastered many modern construction technologies, ready to handle the construction of traffic projects in and around the world

1 Introduction to Freight Forwarding

Freight forwarding is a vital component of modern logistics, encompassing the intricate orchestration of goods transportation from one location to another It encompasses tasks such as arranging pickups, managing transport, and overseeing deliveries while ensuring compliance with the necessary paperwork and customs regulations Freight forwarders, experts in logistics and supply chain management, play a pivotal role in helping businesses efficiently and economically transport goods Beyond their core services, they often offer value-added solutions, including warehousing, shipment tracking, and insurance coverage to safeguard goods during transit

2 The Freight Forwarding Process

The freight forwarding process is a multifaceted journey that involves several stages and collaboration among various stakeholders It commences with the establishment of a contractual agreement between the freight forwarder and the client, defining the scope

of services Subsequently, the freight forwarder embarks on document preparation, followed by the physical transportation of goods, customs clearance, and finally, delivery to the intended destination Throughout this process, the freight forwarder maintains close communication with the client, ensuring that the shipment is managed effectively and reaches its destination on schedule

The initial step for any freight forwarding company is the establishment of a contract between the freight forwarder and the client This contract serves as a foundational document outlining key aspects of the services to be provided It specifies the nature of the shipment, pickup and delivery locations, expected transit times, and any supplementary services such as warehousing or tracking Additionally, the contract delineates the cost of services, payment terms, and any applicable fees or surcharges The establishment of this contract ensures both parties have a clear understanding of their respective responsibilities and expectations

The second phase of the freight forwarding process is document preparation Here, the freight forwarder meticulously completes the required paperwork to facilitate the movement of goods This paperwork includes essential customs documents, insurance certificates, and any other necessary documentation The freight forwarder also ensures that the client is provided with the requisite documentation to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements This step is pivotal in ensuring the efficient processing of the shipment and avoiding any potential delays

The third stage of the freight forwarding process involves the pickup of goods Typically, this task is outsourced to a third-party carrier, such as a trucking company, responsible for transporting the goods to the freight forwarder's facility The freight forwarder collaborates closely with the carrier to guarantee the secure and proper loading of the goods for transit In addition, they provide the carrier with essential documentation, such as the bill of lading and other required paperwork, to ensure the shipment's legal compliance

The fourth phase focuses on the transportation of goods, which can vary based on the shipment's type, origin, and destination Goods may be transported by air, sea, rail, or road, depending on various factors The freight forwarder selects the most cost-effective and efficient transportation mode for the client, coordinating closely with the chosen carrier to ensure timely and regulation-compliant delivery

The fifth and final stage in the freight forwarding process encompasses clearance and delivery During this stage, the necessary customs clearance and documentation are obtained to facilitate the legal transportation of goods The freight forwarder collaborates with the carrier to organize the final delivery of goods to their destination This step is critical to ensure that goods reach their endpoint without delays or additional costs

In summary, the process of freight forwarding at FTC Company is a well-coordinated sequence of activities that begins with contractual agreements and culminates in the secure and timely delivery of goods This comprehensive approach ensures that clients' shipments are managed effectively and in compliance with international regulations throughout their journey
