Talking about Vietnamese holidays, I believe the Lunar New Year will always be the first to pop up in everyone’s mind More than any other occasion, it is the most expected annual event by the Vietnamese everywhere in the world The official Lunar New Year or Tet holiday is celebrated from the 31st of December till the third of January according to the Lunar calendar Nonetheless, the break is often extended to five or seven days later Every year at this festival, people across the nation will come back to their hometowns and celebrate the occasion with their families and friends Some common plans include cleaning and decorating the house, buying new clothes, making Banh Chung, making offers for the ancestors, giving out “lucky money”, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on Everyone is looking forward to the Tet holidays Especially, for children, they look forward to Tet holiday because they can receive lucky money from adults as a way to give them wishes for the new year Even though the modern lifestyle and the fast pace of life are shortening the Lunar New Year holiday, I not think it will ever disappear as its significance is far too great in every Vietnamese’s heart Hết - Tet is the most expected annual event by the Vietnamese everywhere in the world - The official Lunar New Year or Tet holiday is celebrated from the 31st of December till the 3rd of January according to the Lunar calendar - Some common plans include cleaning and decorating the house, buying new clothes, making Banh Chung, making offers for the ancestors, giving out “lucky money”, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on - Even though the modern lifestyle and the fast pace of life are shortening the Lunar New Year holiday, I not think it will ever disappear as its significance is far too great in every Vietnamese’s heart
