Week Period 27 Unit : MY NEIGHBOURHOOD LESSON GETTING STARTED I OBJECTIVES: Knowlegde: Extend vocabularies and phrases related to neighborhood Talk about dfiferrent places and show directions to these in a neighborhood Competence : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: develop reading and listening skill for general and specific information; identify different features of a place;use what they have learnt to talk about their neighborhood Character qualities : Be encouraged the love in Ss and the expression of their feeling about their neighborhood II Teaching aids: Grade textbook, Unit 6, Getting started,Pictures - CD disk, cassette sachmem.vn III Procedure 1.Warm – up: Chatting Teacher shows some images of Hoi An on the screen and asks students some open questions: “Do you know where it is?” “Have you ever been to Hoi An?” “Do you remember anything special in Hoi An?” Today we are going to travel around Hoi An; before we start the lesson, let’s get some vocabulary first 2.Pre-stage: Aims: Ss can know some vocabularies related to the topic “My neighbourhood” Vocabulary : T elicits words from Ss -lose (v) -historic(a) -cross(v) -(to) go straight -(to) turn lelf/right -arrive(v) * Voc checking: R &R *Task 1: Listen and read.(P38) Stage aim: - To help students practice listening and speaking to check their pronunciation Teacher asks students some brainstorming questions like: What are Nick, Phong and Khang doing? Where are they? What might be happening to them? Have you ever got lost? How did you feel? What did you do? Teacher asks students to give their answers, but does not confirm whether their answers are right or wrong Teacher plays the recording twice for students to listen and read along Ss: underline the words that are related to the topic of the unit while they are listening and reading Teacher invites some pairs of students to read the dialogue aloud 3.During-stage *Stage aims: SS can understand the conversation ,do exercises and role-play making suggestions Ss can give directions to one of the places on the map SS can know more words related the topic “my neighbourhood” and talk about different places and show directions to these in a neighbourhood Task 2: Find in the conversation the sentences used to make suggestions.(P.39) Ex : Let’s go to Chua Cau Ss read the conversation and find out, then share with their partner Answer key: Let’s go to Chua Cau! Shall we go there first?
