Terms and definitions" !For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in EN ISO 12100:2010 and the following apply." 3.1 spreader (fig.1) The spreader is placed between the extruder and the dryer The dough strings continually discharged from the extruder, are cut off to a certain length, then placed on the sticks and cut to the required length on the lower end Subsequently, the covered sticks are transferred to the dryer The empty sticks are taken over by the stick return conveyor and can be heated or treated with edible oil before they are covered with product anew The cut product remnants are usually transported away from the spreader by means of conveyor belts and are fed to the extruder by means of a pneumatic conveying line In order to prevent the still wet product on the sticks sticking together, it is necessary to have venting devices at several spots The spreader can also be equipped with a device for introducing or removing the sticks 3.2 stripping and cutting machine (fig.2) The stripping and cutting machine is positioned after the cooler or after the stick stacker The stick with the dried product are taken over, the product is stripped off the sticks and is cut to the desired length The cut product is discharged via oscillating conveyors or conveyor belts and is transferred to the packaging unit or to a stacker The cut-off material is in most cases transported away by means of a pneumatic conveying line The empty sticks are transferred to the stick return conveyor Normally, the stripping and cutting machine comprises also a stick removal device, which takes off the empty sticks to allow for their cleaning or repair 3.3 stick return conveyor and stick magazine (fig.3) The stick return conveyor brings the empty sticks from the stripping and cutting machine back to the spreader This device is usually positioned underneath the dryers BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) In certain cases one of the functions of this return conveyor is the formation of a stick magazine with the sticks being transported possibly in several tiers A further stick magazine, called intermediate stick magazine, for a small number of product-covered sticks, can become necessary for plants working without a stick stacker In this case, the intermediate stick magazine is placed ahead of the stripping and cutting machine Figure shows the arrangement of the return stick conveyor and the stick magazine within a long-pasta line BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) When the overall thickness of the overlapping part and joint is more than mm, the upper part shall be chamfered in order to reduce the thickness (d) to smaller than or equal to mm (see figure A.4.3) (1) Food area Figure A.4.3 A.3.2.3 Surface assemblies and overlaps for splash area The surfaces can be:  either grouted:  by means of a profile which cannot be pulled away and which is installed before assembly (see figure A 5.1 ); (2) Splash area Figure A.5.1  34 by flush bonding (the folds of the part used for bonding shall have a flange length (l2) greater than mm and the flash of the bond shall not have shrinkage (s) more than 0,5 mm) ,see figure A.5.2; BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) (2) Splash area Figure A.5.2  or assembled and fitted (maximum clearance (j) less than or equal to 0,5 mm with the upper surfaces overlapping the lower surfaces in the direction of product flow An overlapping distance (re) of at least 30 mm is essential to prevent liquid rising by a capillarity (see figure A.5.3) (2) Splash area Figure A.5.3 A.3.2.4 Surface assemblies and overlaps for non-food area No particular requirements 35 BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) A.3.3 Fasteners A.3.3.1 Fasteners for food area !See EN 1672-2:2005+A1:2009, 5.3.1.3." A.3.3.1.1 Case of spot-facing If construction requires the use of hexagon socket head screws embedded in a spot face:  either production shall comply with the figure A.6 and the manufacturer in his instruction handbook can prescribe suitable cleaning facilities (e.g.: high pressure jet); L≥ 2d (1) Food area f= (L-d)/2 Figure A.6  or the manufacturer shall take the necessary steps to fill in the spot face by sealed and lasting plugs corresponding to the requirements of the food area A.3.3.1.2 Pin drive systems Pin drive systems shall only be permitted if they are solid and assembled as flush as possible The manufacturer can establish an inspection procedure to ensure compliance with this requirement A.3.3.2 Fasteners for splash area The fasteners which shall be easy to clean, shall be chosen among those of the figure A.7 36 BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) Figure A.7 If construction requires the use of hexagon socket screws embedded in a spot faced whole, the design shall comply with:  either a method compliant with the principle of figure A.6 for the food area whereby the manufacturer can prescribe in his instruction handbook the cleaning facilities that are required (e.g high pressure jet);  or the manufacturer shall take all the necessary measures to plug the spot facing with sealed plugs A.3.3.3 Fasteners for non-food area No particular requirements A.3.4 Machines on the floor A.3.4.1 Fixed machines with or without a base Fixed machines with or without a base shall either be based on the floor with an interposed continuous and sealed joint, the instruction handbook shall specify the jointing method (see figure A.8.1), or shall have their feet (H) higher than or equal to 150 mm However, if the space (L) to be cleaned is not deeper than L = 150 mm, the height H can be reduced to 100 mm as long as the various access possibilities are taken into account (see figure A.8.2) If the foot surface is greater than dm , the feet shall be considered to be a base (with interposed seal) (see figures A.8.3) 37 BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) Figure A.8.1 Figure A.8.2 38 BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) Figure A.8.3 A.3.4.2 Mobile machines The castors shall be cleanable An example is given in figure A.9, where b is the greater width of covering at the circumference of the wheel if b ≤ 25 mm, then a ≥ 3,5 mm if b > 25 mm, then a ≥ mm Figure A.9 39 BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) A.3.5 Ventilation openings A.3.5.1 Ventilation openings for non-food area Ventilation openings shall be in the non-food area The direction of any fluid flow shall prevent any infiltration or retention in the machine Whenever possible, for machines standing on the floor, a guard shall prevent access to rodents in all technical areas of the machine and for this reason the smallest opening shall be less than or equal to mm in dimension A.3.5.2 Ventilation openings for splash area In case of technical constraints, ventilation openings may be in the splash area In such cases they shall be designed to be cleanable Whenever possible, for equipment standing on the floor, a guard shall prevent access to rodents in any technical parts of the machine The smallest dimension of the opening (b) shall be less than or equal to mm (see figure A.10) Key Net Opening Figure A.10 A.3.6 Hinges Whenever possible, the manufacturer shall eliminate swivel points from the food area If their presence in the food area is technically necessary, then:  they shall be easily removed;  if they cannot be removed, all surfaces shall be accessible 40 BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) Assembly with a fixed part shall be made by a joint designed to prevent any infiltration Access to all these areas is acceptable when the passage width (l3) is greater than or equal to two time the depth (p) In no case should this width (l3) shall be less than 10 mm (see figure A.11) Figure A.11 A.3.7 Control panel The control panel shall be in the non-food area and cleanable whenever possible 41 BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) Annex B (normative) Noise test code - Grade or This noise test code applies to spreader, stripping and cutting machine, stick return conveyor, stick magazines B.1 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this annex the terms and definitions given in !EN ISO 9614-1:2009" and the following applies B.1.1 noise emission declaration Information on the noise emitted by the machine, given by the manufacturer or supplier in technical documents or other literature concerning noise emission values The noise emission declaration may take the form of either the declared single-number noise emission value or the declared dual-number noise emission value B.1.2 work station A position in the vicinity of the machine which is intended for an operator NOTE During the normal operation of the machine, operators are not required to be continuously present B.2 Installation and mounting conditions The installation and mounting condition are the same for the determination of both sound power levels and emission sound pressure levels at specified positions and for declaration purposes !The machine under test shall be placed on a reflecting plane." Care shall be taken to ensure that any electrical conduits, pipings or air ducts which are connected to the machine not radiate significant amount of sound energy B.3 Operating conditions The operating conditions of the machine during the determination of noise emission values (emission sound pressure at the workstation or sound power levels), shall be as follows:  the machine shall be empty  all rotating parts of the machine shall rotate at their maximum speed B.4 Measurements The measurement time for the measurement of sound pressure levels for the determination of the emission sound pressure level (see B.5) and the sound power level (see B.6) shall be 30 s 42 BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) In order to obtain the required grade of accuracy, noise measurements shall be done three times and the final measured value shall be the energy average B.5 Emission sound pressure level determination The determination of the emission sound pressure level at the workstation shall be done in accordance with !EN ISO 11204:2010", preferably grade The measurement shall be done at the workstation at:  1,6 m height above the floor,  1,0 m in front of the machine, in the axis of the machine, in front of the control board At first, the background noise, measured with A-weighting or in each frequency bands of interest, shall be determined It shall be at least dB (and preferably more than 15 dB) below the level due to the machine under test In order to obtain the emission sound pressure level at the workstation, the background noise correction K1 and the local environmental correction K3 shall be applied The determination and use of K1 and K3 shall be made in accordance with !EN ISO 11204:2010" B.6 Sound power level determination The determination of the A-weighted sound power level shall be done using !EN ISO 3744:2010" or in case of the environmental correction K2 exceeding dB !EN ISO 3746:2010" !EN ISO 96141:2009" or !EN ISO 9614-2:1996" can also be applied The measurements surfaces shall be those of a rectangular parallelepiped whose sides are parallel to those of the reference box; the distance between the measurement surface and the reference box shall be 2,0 m B.7 Measurement uncertainties A standard deviation of reproducibility of 0,5 dB to 4,0 dB is expected for the A-weighted emission sound pressure level determined according !EN ISO 11204:2010" (grade and 3) The determination of the A-weighted sound power level according to !EN ISO 3744:2010" (grade 2), !EN ISO 3746:2010" (grade 3) and !EN ISO 9614-1:2009 and EN ISO 9614-2:1996" (grade and 3) result in standard deviations of reproducibility of 0,5 dB to 3,0 dB B.8 Information to be recorded The information to be recorded covers all of the technical requirements of this noise test code Any deviations from this noise test code and/or from the basic noise emission standards used are to be recorded together with the technical justification for such deviations B.9 Information to be reported The test report includes the information which the manufacturer requires in order to prepare a noise declaration or which the user requires in order to verify the declared values As a minimum the following information shall be included: 43 BS EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 EN 13379:2001+A1:2013 (E) 1) identification of the manufacturing company, of the machine type, model, serial number and year of manufacture; 2) reference to the basic noise emission standard(s) used; 3) description of the operating conditions during measurement and the location of the workstation or other specified positions; and 4) the noise emission value obtained B.10 Declaration and verification of noise emission value The declaration of the noise emission values shall be made as a dual number noise emission declaration according to !EN ISO 4871:2009" !It shall declare the A-weighted emission sound pressure level LpA and its uncertainty KpA and if required the sound power level LWA and its uncertainty KWA." The uncertainty Kpa and Kwa are expected to have values as given in the following table Grade Grade K2A ≤ dB K2A= to dB !EN ISO 11204:2010" Kpa = dB Kpa = dB !EN ISO 3744:2010" Kwa= dB - !EN ISO 3746:2010" - Kwa= dB !EN ISO 9614-1:2009 and Kwa= dB Kwa= dB Standard EN ISO 9614-2:1996" The noise declaration shall state that the noise emission values have been obtained according to this test code and to the basic standards !EN ISO 3744:2010" or !EN ISO 3746:2010" respectively !EN ISO 9614-1:2009" or !EN ISO 9614-2:1996" If this statement is not true, the noise declaration shall indicate
