The list is not exhaustive but simply an aide-mémoire for starting points in school improvement work. A common format on which to record all development areas/issues/concerns that are to emerge as the ongoing school improvement plan. Links to school cycle The different boxes can be cross-referenced to the appropriate heading on other proformas. For example, if the teaching of a specific subject is identified as a particular weakness, this might be cross-referenced to the ‘Subject coordinators’ checklist’ (10), ‘Improving standards’ (12), ‘Subject priorities’ (16) and so on. Such proformas may or may not confirm that such weaknesses exist. Key personnel Any stakeholders who are entrusted by the senior management team or governors to have input into the school improvement plans. How this contributes to school improvement A well constructed proforma will give a clear direction in all aspects of school improvement. The advantage of using loose leaf proformas is that they are easily duplicated and key personnel can have instant access to them. In addition, unlike school improvement folders or documents, all aspects of school improvement can be worked on, updated and cross-referenced simultaneously and with ease.
