extremely important activities in the Enterprise, it is considered as two sides of the same coin, if either side is missing, the "coin" is no longer valid The two marketing and sales personnel departments are closely related, inseparable, and need to connect and support each other Marketing makes strategies, outlines, guides and supports in terms of communication, branding to make sales really good The sales team must cover the goods widely, they must win at the points of sale, and take good care of their customers to contribute to the success of the marketing campaigns and the The assigned tasks During a month as an intern at TT BEAUTY, I had many opportunities to practice jobs related to my major in Business English In the first week, in order for me to adapt and get used to the company's working environment, the manager assigned me to be a direct salesman at the store system in Aeon Ha Dong Daily work is to guide and advise customers who have the need to use our company's cosmetics Most of them are customers in the high-end segment and some foreigners are interested in beauty cosmetics originating from Israel, so when I communicate with them, I have learned a lot Next week, I am responsible for translating documents and reports from English to Vietnamese and vice versa During the past two weeks of my internship, my job was mainly to communicate with customers, advising them on the company's products and services To be precise is to find and develop potential customers for the company For the next two weeks, I was assigned the task of composing emails with our partners supplying our goods from Israel, the exchange of prices, quantities as well as tracking these orders was entirely in English so I have the opportunity to use and promote my business English expertise as well as the soft skills that I learned in school 2.2 Difficulties and the personal experience acquired 2.2.1 Difficulties In the process of becoming an intern of the Sales and Marketing Department, although I had many opportunities to practice the knowledge and experience learned from the university, I could not avoid difficulties Firstly, I have no experience working in an office environment, moreover this is a company following Israeli standards, so it is very strict and has many rigid regulations So, at first, I was quite struggling and confused Secondly, most of TT BEAUTY's employees are people who have worked in multinational corporations, so they are very knowledgeable and experienced in this market Meanwhile, I've never been there, so I have to cultivate a fair amount of information about the origin of beauty care products from Israel to be able to confidently communicate with customers Third, my office computer skills are only at a basic level So when I did the report on word and Excel, it took me quite a while I also don't have the opportunity to use office machines such as printers, copiers, faxes, etc., so I have to ask other people for help to use them The last and most important thing is soft skills Over the course of a month at the company, I realized that expertise is only part of the job The key to an individual's success is soft skills including communication skills, problem solving, team building These are the things I need to improve .2.2.2 The personal experience acquired After month of internship at TT BEAUTY, I have absorbed many valuable lessons and experiences Some of the experiences that I gained from my internship will help me succeed in my future work Firstly, the internship gave me the opportunity to apply the knowledge I have learned at the University of Commerce, especially the knowledge related to business English, translation and correspondence Commerce It has helped me improve my English skills I have learned a lot of vocabulary, information and knowledge in the field of cosmetic beauty care originating from Israel as well as know how to use translation methods to make good work reports exchange with foreign partners through email correspondence Second, I realized that not only did I improve my English, but I also had to improve my soft skills, time management skills, multitasking and computer skills because this is a key factor for my success in further work Third, I learned how to communicate with new colleagues, as well as integrate into the office environment and company culture My colleagues and my manager were very helpful and friendly They guided me enthusiastically in my work and gave me valuable lessons in life I also learned some necessary traits such as thoughtfulness, initiative, honesty, loyalty and professional attitude to work well with other colleagues Finally, I realized that English is an indispensable element in any company If a company wants to expand the market to achieve the highest revenue and profit when developing cooperation with foreign markets, they must have a team of staff who are good at English PART : EVALUATION ON THE USE OF ENGLISH AT TT BEAUTY 3.1 Existing problems in using English at TT BEAUTY With the particularity of the working environment, which focuses on sales at commercial centers, the branches of the company's customers are mostly Vietnamese and only a few are foreign, so the recruitment criteria TT BEAUTY's activities not require too high a level of English (only focus on communication and reading comprehension at a basic level) Therefore, the English level of TT BEAUTY staff is generally only average Each department is different, the requirements for English proficiency are specific For example, the Document Department will require employees to have higher qualifications, work more with foreign partners, process documents, translate and translate Vietnamese documents into English documents, write emails in English UK to exchange and handle issues about the process of buying and selling, or issues about importing goods However, most of the long-term employees (over years of work) have low English proficiency Specifically, only some employees in the Human Resources Department, Sales and Marketing Department, and Accounting Department can listen, speak, read and write English fluently Other staff members only read and write English or have a little vocabulary and grammar Difficulties encountered by company employees with average English proficiency: - In working with customers: Although the sales department staff has basic communication skills, sometimes foreign customers have problems with goods, the staff are not really capable of doing this Ability to convey , or solve , explain satisfactorily with customers in English - Because the daily workload of the departments is quite large, there are not really many opportunities to improve English proficiency regularly, which causes confusion when suddenly in certain situations you must use English fluently - In recruitment, the human resources department does not interview candidates in English, so the entry level of English is only standard and has not yet been assessed on actual English ability This is a limitation and difficulty of the company when they cooperate with foreign partners In general , the level of English of TT BEAUTY’s staff is quite weak, so it affects a lot of the process of work of the company 3.2 Causes of the weaknesses in using English at TT BEAUTY 3.2.1 Ojective reasons The recruitment of human resources many years ago had a lack of assurance about English proficiency Most employees hired before 2021 only require English at a basic level of communication, reading and comprehension instead of having specialized English certificates Although managers have many speeches to encourage employees to improve their English, they not take specific actions or organize activities for employees to improve their English skills TT BEAUTY is a company operating in the field of selling cosmetics imported from Israel with mainly Vietnamese customers, so it is inevitable that staff and employees not focus on using fluent English Most people tend to focus on developing soft skills other than English ability 3.2.2 Subjective reasons Most of TT BEAUTY's employees are not good at English, they just stop at reading comprehension and basic communication because most of the time they use Vietnamese at work Language needs environment and regular practice to develop, so employees of TT BEAUTY company use English less and less in communication and work, leading to less and less proficiency real improvement 3.3 Propose solution for using English at DECO According to the problems raised in the use of English at TT BEAUTY, I would like to propose the following solutions: The company should come up with specific methods to improve the English level of employees such as inviting English teachers to teach employees or sending employees to participate in short courses In addition to the actual work at the company, each employee needs to be aware of the role and importance of English in the current period in order to make a plan to improve their English level Organize contests in English to both create a playground for employees and arouse the passion for foreign languages in each individual Not only that, the company's leadership also arranges for employees to participate in English-learning experience-sharing seminars organized at home and abroad There are rewards , salary and appropriate support for employees who have good English ability and can be applied to work During the recruitment process, more attention is paid to testing candidates' actual English ability, not just certificates PART 4: PROPOSED TOPIC FOR THE UPCOMING GRADUATION THESIS After my internship at TT BEAUTY, I realized the important role of English in business Not only TT BEAUTY , any business that wants to develop and expand overseas markets needs a staff who can use English fluently This is the key factor determining the success or failure of the business However, during the 1-month internship period, I also noticed some limitations in using English in business, especially in email communication with the company's foreign partners The staff's skills in presenting and expressing problems via email in English are not good, sometimes causing confusion for customers, making them unsatisfied and not achieving their goals in communication and information exchange Meanwhile, today commercial correspondence in trade plays an extremely important role This is one of the simplest and easy ways to negotiate, used as a means of exchanging information in the business field Currently, most business correspondence is written in English with a strict structure Business newsletters reflect the professionalism as well as the ability of the writer or the image representative of a company When you communicate effectively by business correspondence, it helps to promote a good relationship between the two businesses On the contrary, if the communication by mail is not effective, it will cause many problems, leading to misunderstandings, delays in business as well as in relationships between individuals and groups 10 Recognizing the role and importance of email writing skills in business correspondence and with the desire to find the best solution to enhance and equip students before entering the corporate environment I would like to suggest the direction of the graduation thesis is : “Some common mistakes in writing business letters in English at Thuong Mai University and solutions” 11 CONCLUSION TT
