KTE206E: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY FOR ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS RESEARCH PROPOSAL ASSIGNMENT FOR FINAL EVALUATION Group Work This assignment is a team-based assignment Due Date Due via email to Professor phamthicamanh@ftu.edu.vn October 10th, 2022 by 13:30 pm Email subject line: ResearchProposal_KTEE206 Document naming convention: FullName1_FullName2_FullName3_FullName4_FullName5_RP (MS Word documents only) And submit a hardcopy according to the informed schedule Key Elements 3.1 The names of your team participants For example, there are students A, B, C making a report and get points Contribution levels: A: 40%, B: 30%, C: 30% The score will be as followed: A = 8x3x40% = 9.6; B = C = 8x3x30% = 7.2 If the score is greater than 10, the maximum is 10 Therefore, group members must carefully discuss the member contribution 3.2 The outline of each stages in research proposal 3.3 Modeling the stages of a research proposal (depends on the research topic, research objectives and follow-up research design your team select) Check section for more details Format 4.1 About 6000 words not including reference 4.2 The research proposal should be written in Time New Roman Font, single-spaced in-text and double-spaced between paragraphs 4.3 Citation should follow Harvard style format 4.4 Section heading should be clearly delineated using a consistent format (e.g., boldface type) to guide the reader Tip You are required to select a topic based on your substantive interest in a particular economics and business area Domestic or international topics are welcome Key elements to address in the Research proposal - The topic your team select and why your team select the topic - Clarify research objectives and convert to research question(s) and hypotheses (if suitable) - - - - How will your research proposal differs from or be similar to other prior research? (Please note here that I am expecting that your team produce a formal literature review, with a few key pieces of prior research to determine whether similar methods could be used and applied in your particular context.) What data will you use in your research? Will they be from already existing administrative datasets, or will you collect the data yourself (if yes, provide instrument(s) for data collection, e.g., questionnaire)? Will you use quantitative data only, qualitative data only or both quantitative and qualitative? In cases where the selected measures (if any) are qualitative/difficult to measure, how will you operationalize these variables? Cross-sectional or panel data? Sampling method will you plan to use in your research (if any)? And why? In your research design, will you be able to use random experiments to examine the causal impacts (if any)? If not, will you plan to use quasi-experimental design in your research? Will your research design be a pre-test post-test design? * (advanced, not required for all teams) Discuss research ethics (if necessary, depends on your research topic and research design) Discuss how you plan to avoid/ minimize threats to internal and external validity and reliability Include a proposed timeline for the research activities and intended outlets for dissemination of the results (highly encourage, if possible) *Please note that you are not required to specify any technical details (model specifications, etc.) in the research proposal My expectation instead is that you present a clear understanding of how you plan to conduct your research in the current context and whether/how experimental, nonexperimental, and/or quasiexperimental methods can be applied to answer the proposed research questions I will be most concerned with two specific things: Ensuring the design is consistent with the research objectives Ensuring the data collection methods described are consistent with the design ... data collection, e.g., questionnaire)?
