Available online at www.sciencedirect.com ScienceDirect Agriculture and Agricultural Science Procedia 11 (2016) 125 – 130 International Conference on Inventions & Innovations for Sustainable Agriculture 2016, ICIISA 2016 Effects of Extenders on Fresh and Freezing Semen of Boer Goat Phakatip Yodmingkwana, Somchit Guntapromb, Juggrid Jaksamritc, Krittiya Lertchunhakiata,* a Faculty of Animal Sciences and Agricultural Technology Silpakorn University, Phetchaburi 76120, Thailand b Agro-Industrial Technology Faculty, Kalasin University, Kalasin, 46000, Thailand c Nakhonratchasima AI Research Center, DLD, Thailand Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of soybean lecithin and egg yolk on semen quality of Boer goats Semen of the three Boer bucks was collected using artificial vagina In the first experiment, the semen samples were preserved in liquid state and subsequently were diluted with Tris-fructose-citric acid (TFC), Tris-fructose-citric acid + 1.5% soybean lecithin (TFCSL) and Trisfructose-citric acid + 2.5% egg yolk (TFCEY) In the second experiment, the semen samples were cryopreserved in various freezing media as the same treatment with experiment The results from the first experiment indicated that sperm motility and viability in TFCEY were significantly greater than those of TFCSL (P75% sperm motility and >85% normality sperm were selected and pooled for cryopreservation ( Salmani et al , 2014) In our study, ejaculates have 1.15 ml volume with a concentration of 55.6 ± 0.61x106/ml having 80.83 ± 3.06% sperm motility and 97% normality sperm In experiment 1, the effect of different extenders (TFC, TFCSL and TFCEY) on motility and viability parameters of post equilibration sperm are shown in Table The highest percentage of motility and viability were observed in the TFCEY extender, while TFC extender did not affect these parameters (P
