San Antonio ISD Job Description ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN TRINITY UNIVERSITY’S TOMORROW’S LEADERSHIP PROGRAM Rev 4-2017 Opening: April 7, 2017 Reports To: Campus Principal & Director – Leadership Development Dept /School: Campus Assigned Closing: Until Filled Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Pay Grade: Teacher Salary Schedule Terms of Employment: 197 days per year Salary on the teacher salary schedule on the SAISD Compensation Plan on a term or probationary contract, as applicable This position is a one-year residency position for teacher leaders to participate in an administrative internship residency while earning a Master of Education in School Leadership degree through a partnership with Trinity University Successful candidates who complete the program will be eligible to apply to school-based leadership positions in SAISD the following year and will commit to serving as an educational leader in SAISD for four years within a six-year period following graduation There will be 12 positions, four of which will be housed at the Advanced Learning Academy The application link is https://saisd.tedk12.com/hire/ViewJob.aspx?JobID=2558 Primary Purpose: Develop an understanding of the campus principal role with regard to instructional leadership, management of personnel and operations, student achievement, and school culture to be able to assist in the overall administration of campus instructional program and school operations Coordinate assigned student activities and services Provide instruction to students, based on campus need Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certification: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee • Does NOT hold a Texas State Principal or Mid-Management License • Current GRE or Miller Analogies Test scores or the commitment to take the exam(s) for graduate program admission at Trinity University Special Knowledge/Skills: • Ability to demonstrate understanding of school operations • Ability to demonstrate instructional leadership with broad-based knowledge of district curriculum and initiatives and research-based teaching and learning practices • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills • Ability to interpret data and address needs of school and community • Ability to problem solve, think critically and manage conflicts • Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with campus and district staff • Ability to effectively provide professional development to adult learners Experience: • Three (3) years teaching MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (The following statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned and should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions that may be assigned or skills that may be required.)
