I would like to be involved in coordination at the County level To be able to coordinate plans and see the bigger picture of how everything works together sounds very exciting and interesting I also have an interest in collaborating with the County in how we are creating more affordable housing As we grow and move ahead in planning no one should be left behind or be falling through the cracks Please explain why you are a qualified candidate, including relevant professional experience, to serve on the board/commission In 2019 Mayor Geoffrey Thomas formed a committee to address the growing public concern around Monroe's homeless and how the City is responding with policies and programs After serving on this committee and helping to create a set of nonbinding recommendations which were adopted by resolution of the Monroe City Council I came on board with the City as an unpaid intern to work with Deborah Knight to implement these recommendations Through out this process we have met with stakeholders, and formed a team of technical experts to guide the City in writing the RFP to create a Monroe One Stop Center for Health and Human Services In April of 2020 the Monroe City Council approved a contract to continue my services with the City as the Project Management Consultant I have been learning to write and present to Council and Facilitate groups I am constantly looking to expand my responsibilities and learn new skills I think this position would give me a whole new perspective Please list community involvement/volunteer activities I am currently volunteering with the Sky Valley YMCA with their Showers After Hours I also serve with my church providing meals with Salvation Army Bellevue and Congregations For the Homeless I am on the communications board of the Snohomish County PEH CoC How did you learn of this opportunity?
