Are you feeling guilty for putting your needs there? Mom guilt? *No shaming yourself allowed Let’s work with ourselves rather than against ourselves Are you a night owl, or an early riser? Have you ever failed trying to force yourself into a habit that just didn’t fit? Be honest with what you think fits you and where you are now (It doesn’t have to look like everyone else!) What is your family situation or circumstances? What is low priority? Are you a to-do list person or does that create stress? Are goals helpful or they take you down a shame spiral if life gets in the way and you can’t reach it What are roadblocks getting in the way of your goals? Reassess everything every weeks You can set aside time to think about next steps. You don’t need to stress any farther out than that (especially right now with so much uncertainty in the world) All rights reserved 2020 Carve Out Time for Art LLC www.carveouttimeforart.com ● ● ● ● ● Friends on the internet turned friends in real life L-R (Heather, Ekaterina Popova of Create! Acknowledge grief and fear ○ Let it have it’s moment, but don’t let it stop you forever When hit with an obstacle, you need need to address it right away? If so then can you something about it? What is that? Do IT! If you can’t control it, leave it If you don’t need address it right away, let your subconscious work on it All rights reserved 2020 Carve Out Time for Art LLC www.carveouttimeforart.com ● ● ● ● ● ● What you need to clear space for yourself mentally? A family check in to see how everyone is feeling? Communicate what you need with from your family? Check in personally - look back over your day here and there, did you feel like you “wasted” time somewhere? Are there practices that lessen the mommy guilt, like small designated times with each child? Art project, coloring that feel creative to you too (If you have those types of kids) Acknowledge that this is a season - like postpartum, Your gathering, resting, dreaming, reflected etc… and that is part of your work WHAT DOES SELF CARE LOOK LIKE TO YOU? “Yoga, lots of walking, eating the best I can, lots of cuddles from my family, checking in with each other that “things are ALL RIGHT, and making small changes/alterations to make sure everyone in our family is feeling comfortable.” -Maryanne Moodie All rights reserved 2020 Carve Out Time for Art LLC www.carveouttimeforart.com ● Set a timer ● Schedule time in your day Look for found moments ● Celebrate small wins ● Ask for help!
