News Release City of Anna 111 North Powell Parkway Anna, TX 75409 www.annatexas.gov Contact: Celso Martinez Phone: 972-623-8836 September 6, 2018 City of Anna choose Jim Proce as new City Manager ANNA (September 6, 2018) Following a comprehensive, months-long search, the City of Anna has hired Jim Proce as City Manager Proce begins his new assignment on Monday, Sept 10 With more than 35 years of experience in a variety of municipal disciplines, Proce was most recently director of business development and strategy for a national civil engineering firm and an independent consultant He has previously served as assistant city manager, public works director, transportation manager, and vice-president of a regional water control district His career has included positions in Florida and Texas He started his career in engineering and public works, occupying virtually every position in that profession Proce’s background in planning and development, construction management, public works, utilities, emergency management and preparedness, innovation, and related areas holds much promise for Anna, as the City is undergoing unprecedented growth and development, according to Mayor Nate Pike “Jim’s extensive experience in these critical areas is what we were looking for,” said the Mayor “With his varied background, we’re looking forward to Jim helping guide Anna through the next phase of growth and beyond.” A Credentialed Manager by the International City Management Association, Proce holds a fellowship in the Public Works Leadership Institute of the American Public Works Association (APWA) and is also a site evaluator for the association’s accreditation program He holds multiple certifications from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s management institute He currently serves on APWA’s National Leadership and Management Committee as well as the Texas Public Works Association Board of Directors for North Central Texas Additionally, Proce is an adjunct instructor for the Certified Public Managers program at Texas State University He has previously served on a number of committees and boards the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the Public Works Council, the Public Works Emergency Response Team and the Regional Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee Proce earned a Bachelor of Science from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and an MBA from the University of Central Florida in Orlando He completed the senior executives of state and local governments program at the JFK School of Government at Harvard University He was recognized by the APWA in 2016 with the Top Ten Public Works Leader Award and the APWA Community Involvement Award in 2011 He has been married to with his wife, Irene, for 36 years, and the couple has two children, Gabriela, a student at the UT Arlington and Joseph, a student at the University of North Texas ### ABOUT ANNA – The City of Anna is a fast-growing community located in northern Collin County Anna’s population is approximately 13,000 residents occupying over 4,000 households This emerging and vibrant city offers its residents an excellent quality of life and low cost of living With much of the City’s land still undeveloped, and the population expanding annually, the community is becoming an attractive location for retail and commercial establishments The City’s ready workforce is skilled, well-educated, and comparatively young Residents enjoy recreational opportunities, parks, trails, open spaces, easy access to the DFW and Red River corridors, and a pace of living that matches both a relaxed hometown and an emergent community
