international student admission and conversion activity The International Office is responsible for the recruitment of international students In line with the University’ Strategic Plan, our small but ambitious team works to increase the diversity of the student body The Team works across our international target markets to deliver recruitment and marketing activities, promote and develop brand awareness, maintain stakeholder relationships, and identify market opportunities The post will primarily focus on providing an efficient, friendly and excellent admissions service to international prospective students, and supporting the conversion of prospective students from application through to enrolment The post holder must be a professional, flexible and team-player, as they engage in a range of activities Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will be a highly organised individual, preferably with experience of working in international education Attention to detail and on: Friday 22nd October Norwich University of the Arts Job description International Admissions Officer Reports to: International Recruitment Manager Job purpose Work directly with the International Recruitment Manager to meet institutional targets for international student recruitment Ensure international students are supported through the application process from enquiry to application, admission and enrolment Main responsibilities  Provide a quality, customer focused first line, advisory and information service, giving support and guidance on international admissions policies and procedures  Ensure all international applicants are tracked and progressed through the application and registration processes efficiently, meeting all Home Office compliance regulations  Liaise closely with Registry Services, Academic and other departments in respect of issues related to international application through to enrolment  Develop a thorough understanding of admissions and communications-related databases and systems including SITS and the University’s CRM  Develop a thorough understanding of the ethos, mission, academic provision of the University to be able to assist, advise and inform prospective students and other stakeholders  Ensure accurate admissions and UKVI knowledge in order to make assessments of international qualification equivalents Undertake regular analysis of international qualifications to support recruitment  Manage the international scholarship process and provide related reports and analysis  Facilitate use of finance packages such as US Federal Aid and Sallie Mae loans  In conjunction with International and Marketing colleagues, develop annual conversion activity and multi-channel communication plans, in order to maximise conversion from application to enrolment  Provide regular and comprehensive cycle-based reports relating to the status of international recruitment, agent performance and applicant conversion  Provide desk-based research and analysis to support international recruitment strategies as directed by the International Recruitment Manager  Support international recruitment by undertaking recruitment activities in the UK and, where necessary, overseas, and attend online and in person recruitment events  Assist the International Recruitment Manager and other members of the Marketing and Recruitment staff in the production of publicity materials, ensuring international application information is accurate  Coordinate orientation activities for new international students and support the international student social programme which may include organising and accompanying students (where appropriate) on day trips, weekend visits and other social activities  Attend training Norwich University of the Arts Person Specification International Admissions Officer Essential  Educated to Undergraduate standard  Understanding and experience of education focused student recruitment and admissions activity, or similar  Proven experience of working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and databases  Exceptional organisational skills, with ability to prioritise under pressure and work on own initiative  Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely to a wide audience, including those with English as a second language-  High attention to detail and complete accuracy when following processes and procedures  Ability to digest and interpret policy and ensure that procedures are complaint with policy requirements (eg internal admissions processes, immigration policies)  Ability to interpret data as an aid to planning and monitoring impact and trends, and to produce clear reports of findings  Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word and databases  Ability to make independent decisions within the confines of role responsibilities, but also have the flexibility to work as part of a team  Willingness and flexibility to work outside office hours if necessary Desirable  Clean, current UK driving license  Ability to communicate or at role It is anticipated that the duties will be undertaken on campus in Norwich (subject to current Government Guidance) Starting Date This post is available on an indefinite basis and we anticipate that it will start from October 2021 Hours of Work The standard hours of work for professional services staff is 37 hours per week and any additional hours as are necessary for the proper discharge of your duties and responsibilities The hours for this post are 37 hours per week working 8.45 am to 5.00 pm with an unpaid lunch break Flexibility to work outside these hours on occasions would be required Salary This post is on an incremental salary scale at Grade, which is from £28,756 to £33,309 per annum It is anticipated that the starting salary will be at the beginning of the salary scale The successful candidate will normally move up the scale points within the Grade on 1st September each year, after completion of the relevant service period Annual Leave There is an annual holiday entitlement of 22 days rising to 25 days after years’ service, plus statutory days In addition, the University may grant or concessionary days leave per year when the University is closed Pension Employees have the benefit of joining an excellent defined benefit pension scheme which builds up a pension on a “Career Average” salary basis to which the University currently contributes an
