Form Choose from Pathways: The INTERMEDIATE Pathway The ADVANCED Pathway year course year course This pathway is ideal for students consolidating their independent learning skills Students in Year 12 study the BTEC Level First Diploma in Business and have enhanced employability skills which enable them to move on to: This pathway is for students who are confident and ready to start their BTEC Level National Extended Diploma in Business qualification in Year 12 • An apprenticeship • Full time college courses • A higher apprenticeship • Future employment • University • A year BTEC Level course at David Nieper Academy Sixth Form Business and Enterprise Centre Both pathways combine school based learning and time with employers to provide the opportunity to apply knowledge in the workplace If required, a re-sit of the GCSE examination in Maths and English is available for both pathways intermediate Pathway BTEC Level First Diploma in Business (This course is equivalent to GCSEs A*-C) Students will take a total of 10–12 units to complete this qualification, core units, mandatory units and 4–6 optional specialist units Core units: Examples of optional specialist units:
