Among the 1,665 potential members in 2018… 37% of our potential members earned a Don’t students with strong 4.0 GPA or better in high school academics rise to the top? 78% Earned other academic honors and awards Among the 1,665 potential members in 2018… 25% were part of Student Government Maybe leadership gives you an edge… 57% were leaders in other organizations Among the 1,665 potential members in 2018… Perhaps it’s about poise, appearance, and personality? 19% were chosen by peers as class favorites, homecoming courts or prom courts 26% won prizes in pageants or were chosen for school and city hostess groups Among the 1,665 potential members in 2018… 62% Athletics 24% Performing arts What about special interests and talents? 83% Voluntary service 32% Cheer/ dance team DON’T BE INTIMIDATED • Not every potential member meets all of those criteria • The average applicant met of these ten criteria • In fact, women who meet none of those criteria participate in recruitment and happily join each year • A mix of traits exists in each of our members and each of these traits (and more) can be found in each of our sororities • The idea that “outstanding women” are rare at Auburn and can be found only in one or two sororities is incorrect Now is the time for a potential member to decide whether she wants to be a member of a particular sorority or a sorority member! RULES AND REGULATIONS •You should not be contacted by strangers about recruitment. •Before and during recruitment, a potential member should not receive any cards, letters, flowers, gifts, be entertained by others, or have money spent on her that she would not otherwise receive •From August 5-15 only, there is to be no contact between a potential member and her sorority friends They will all be busy with recruitment anyway. •This summer, a potential member can still maintain the friendships she has with sorority members, as long as she is not being actively recruited by her friend.
