Can they be adapted, accommodated, or modified? Which options seem to have local appeal? • What is the MISSION of the IHE? • Not simply words; denotes direction of the college/university • FAU’s mission statement promotes the goal to “equip students with the necessary tools to achieve academic, personal, and career success.” • Can it be used as the program anchor? FAU-ACI PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND DEVELOPMENT FIND THE KEY PEOPLE; ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS • Program champions: focus on benefits and connection to mission • Faculty to develop curriculum: focus on faculty skills • “Middle management”: focus on what has to happen to make X occur? • Example: Academic Affairs: course numbering, student id, paying tuition • Example: DVR: how to make program goals and process mesh with division goals? • Can you live with those suggestions????
