Literature and society have close association with each other. Literature is not merely one sided reflection of the society but presents its critical evaluation as well. In article ‘Bazarvaad and contemporary Hindi poetry’ the role of literature has been evaluated in the present perspective. In the age of globalization the world has entered in to the new phase of development where technological and ideological developments have taken over almost total control of the society. Today everything is determined by its utility. The values, emotions and human feelings are changing very fast. The meaning of same words used earlier has been changed drastically in the present context. If the world has become a Global village the consumerism has gained new hights also. The market is playing a very crucial role in the people’s life today.
