Approved Child Care QualificationsCentre based services Year Courses Qualified Director Approved Child Care Qualifications – year courses (Centre based) This list includes qualifications that are approved for work as a qualified director in licensed centre based services in Queensland The list also includes the relevant training institutions If your qualification does not appear in the list you can apply to have your qualification determined for equivalence Please refer to Child Care Form 20- Application for determination of qualifications on the Office for Early Childhood Education and Care website at www.education.qld.gov.au/earlychildhood/ Prescribed qualifications Section 114 of the Child Care Regulation 2003 defines the qualification requirements for a “qualified director” A person has a qualification prescribed for a director if the person has: (a) an *advanced diploma in an area of study applying to child care workers under the AQF; or (b) a qualification that is at least a year qualification, in early childhood studies or child care studies; or (c) a post graduate qualification that is at least a year qualification in early childhood studies or child care studies The current community services *advanced diploma under the AQF is the Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services – CHC60208 N.B Under section 64 of the Child Care Act 2002 a centre based service with a licensed capacity of not more than 30 for any part of the day does not require a year qualified person to be a director of the service A 2year qualified person is the legal requirement for
