UNIT 12: ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES Lesson 2: A closer look I OBJECTIVES: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to gain: Knowledge: * Vocab: Use words related to people and places in the English-speaking countries native (adj) amazing (adj) unique (adj) local (adj) ancient (adj) - set the context for the listening and repeat, paying attention to the intonation of the folowing questions * Content: Homework checking: * Products: discuss and share names of English-speaking countries Teacher’s and Ss’activities Content Homework checking: To recall students’ vocabulary on community activities T-Ss / Group work * Teacher divides the class into groups of four and asks them to share their homework * Students work in groups to: - Fill in the blanks with a suitable word - Listen and repeat , paying attention to the intonation of the folowing questions * Products: Students read vocabularies exactly aloud Ss can sufficient listening, speaking and co-operating skills Teacher’s and Ss’activities Content Task 1: (5’) T-Ss To introduce some key words (nouns) related to people and places through pictures * Teacher has students read aloud the words in the box and and asks them to match the words with the pictures illustrating them within -
