Dear Sir,
1. The sealed tenders are invited from approved contractors for the above said
work on behalf of Zonal Manager, BankofIndia, Zonal office
Ludhiana upto 14.01.2013 on or before 3.00 P.M. . The schedule,
specification & terms and conditions for the above said work is enclosed.
2. The sealed cover containing the schedules and the tender in original along with
earnest money for Rs. 10,000/= in shape of demand draft in favour ofBankof
India, shall be submitted inthe office of Zonal Manager, Zonal office, Ludhiana.
The cover shall superscribe as follows:

3. The validity ofthe offer is to be kept valid up to four months from the date of
opening ofthe tenders.
4. The time completion of work shall be essence ofthe contract, and shall be completed
within 60 days only from the date of award of work.
5. Offers not contained on the tender documents ofBank & not accompanied with the
requisite sum of earnest money & inthe form mentioned inthe tender, notice, will
not be accepted.
6. Telegraphic / conditional tender will not be entertained.
7. The rates quoted by the tender should be inclusive of sale tax & all other levies, if
any.
8. All the valid tenders duly received by the stipulated time will be opened on the same
date i.e. 14.01.2013 inthe Zonal office oftheBank at 4.00 P.M. Tenderers are at
liberty to be present.
9. The work should be satisfactory with architect and debris and malva should be
remove at site by the contractor.
The contract is entitled to ask for one running payment upto 50% ofthe total work
done during the currency of work, but an advance intimation of 10 days shall have
to be given to Bank, so as to facilitate in preparation / security & release of
payments. The balance payment will be released after successful & satisfactory
completion of work.
10. Deduction of income tax at source on application as per provision ofthe section 194
of the Income Tax Act 1961 will be made from the payments to be made to the
contractor.
11. Any Deviation with respect to Time or specification, Bank without prejudice has
right to-
a) Cancel / Rescind/ Revoke the order,
b) Impose penalty upto 20% ofthe total value of job.
12. Contractor in their own interest, are advised to visit the site and get themselves
familiarize inthe prevailing situation before submitting their rates. No claim what
so ever for ignorance, misunderstanding shall be entertained later.
13. The work is proposed to be done inthe working branch, hence contractor has to
plan his work so as to General working ofthebranch is not affected. He may have to
work only after business hours & during the nights.
14. The ZM, ZO, B.O.I. Ludhiana reserves the rights to increase or decrease the under
job covered by the present state ofthe contract.
15. The contractor shall be responsible for making good in expeditions & work man like
manner any defects which may be found with in One Year ofthe handing over of
the premises or premises put to beneficial use. In case contractor fails to do so, the
same would be get done at his cost & risk. The cost incurred by theBank shall be
deducted from the retention money or any other dues.
16. Security deposit equivalent to 10% from each running bill shall be deducted & shall
be returned only after expiry of defects liability period. & Retanir money 10% after
12 months.
17. The schedule of quantities is only approximate & all the work executed shall be paid
for in accordance with the actual measurements.
18. The samples of all the material & work times shall be got approved from the
Architects M/S HERZI SINGH & ASSOCIATES, Plot No.2772, Near Grewal
Hospital, Gurdev Nagar, and
BankofIndia, Zonal office, Rakh Bagh, Ludhiana.

19. Any damage done to the property oftheBank during execution of work shall be
responsibility ofthe contractor & it shall be made good by him, at his cost to the
entire satisfaction of Architect/ Bank.
20. The drawings contain sketches showing salient features details at the various scale
indicating extent of work & specifications to be followed. These can be modified by
the Bank / Architect from time to time in accordance with technical requirements at
the site.
21. The work shall be ofthe highest standard both as regard to material &
workmanship. Modern tools & first-class latest techniques shall be employed for its
execution.
22. The contractor shall examine all drawings before quoting & commencing of actual
work & report to the Architect / Bank any discrepancy or omission & shortcomings
in the drawings.
23. The Architect shall have full powers to get the material or workmanship etc.,
inspected & tested by an independent agency for its soundness & adequacy at the
cost of contractor.
24. The contractor shall employ adequate Labour to complete the work within the
selected time. No claim for the Labour shall be entertained. The contractor shall
also make his own proper arrangement for welfare, housing & safety of his own
material & Labour.
25. The contractor shall examine all drawings before connecting the actual work &
report to the Architect/ Bank any discrepancies or omission & shortcomings inthe
drawings or when they conflict with other works, or with each other.
26. The prospective contractor, on intimation of acceptance of tender must submit a
progress network ofthe complete work based on bar chart with in four days as
much or modified with the consent ofthe contractor, shall form part ofthe
agreement.
27. The contractor shall visit the site ofthe work & shall satisfy himself as to the
conditions under which the work is to be performed. He shall also check & ascertain
the location of any existing structure or equivalent or another which may
affect the work. No claim, made in ignorance or misunderstanding of site conditions
or a ground of insufficient description shall be entertained.
28. The contractor shall get the approval ofthe Architect regarding the route of
conduits, No. of runs, diameter of conduits, No. & size of wires, location of pull
boxes, route of cables No. & size of wires, location of pull boxes, route of cables in
ground/ wall for electrical / telephone works covered herein.
29. The contractor / his supervisor will be bound to sign the site order book & to carry
out the instructions given therein.
30. Bad workmanship is liable to be rejected.
31. All materials to be arranged by the contractor for use inthe work shall be of
approved make & shall be as per relevant Indian Standard Specification. Where it
is mandatory to use I. S. Marked materials, the contractor shall arrange the same
accordingly.
32. The contractor shall make his own arrangement at his own cost for all general &
special electrical tools & plants required for electrical work. Entire safety
precautions during installation shall be taken as per relevant I. S., I.E. Tulles &
CPWD specifications.
33. Adopter boxes, wherever used, shall be not less than 16 SWG M .S. Sheet.
34. All repairs & patchwork, if any, shall be neatly carried out to match the original
finish & to the entire satisfaction ofthe Architect. Any damages to the building due
to execution of work shall have to be made good immediately by the contractor at
his own cost.
35. The telephone conduits & fire alarm conduits shall be laid with G.I. fish wires kept
pulled in for pulling of at least 1000mm extra at ends.
36. Main junction box for telephone conduit system shall be mounted at a height so that
the top of box does not exceed 1.65 meters from the floor level & in a suitable
location for working by the staff.
37. Sockets, base, boxes, conduits, cable glands, ducts & all other materials not included
elsewhere but required for the work shall be provided by the contractor.
38. The contractor shall obtain & pay for all permits, licenses & certificates for
approval required by all relevant authorities & organizations. All work ofthe
contractor shall confirm to the requirements of local codes.
39. The work shall be carried out as per regulations & in best workmanship like
manner by licensed persons. The means of licensed persons working inthe
installation shall be furnished to the Architect prior to the commencement ofthe
work.
40. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to get the electrical installation works
inspected by the local statutory Authorities. Fire officer and such other officials.
Extra payments / claims are allowable
41. Sub-Distribution boards shall be equipped with miniature circuit breaker. Miniature
circuit breakers shall have adequately sized terminals for the out going leads. rated
chase & neutral bus bars of high conductivity electrolytic Aluminum with
Adequately sized terminals or clamps for the incoming conductor.
42. It is brought to the attention ofthe conductor that :
a) All electrical portable tools should be either 240 volts double insulated or 50
volts via Transformer
b) The contractor has to supply all necessary ladders / steps which must be in good
safe condition.
c) Entire safety precautions during installations shall be taken as per relevant I.S.
I.E. Rules & C.P.W.D. specifications.
43. All electrical works shall be carried out along with the progress of Interior works.
Any debris due to electrical works shall be removed & the Contractor shall clear the
site as soon as the work is completed on his cost.
44. Non flammable insulating barriers shall be provided between poles & phases & all
live protected with non-flammable insulating shields to prevent accidental contact
while replacing or operating the miniature circuit breakers.
45. The contractor is supposed to get the samples approved from the Architect, whose
decision shall be binding on the contractor, The condition is also applicable for my
material not mentioned inthe specifications or schedule of work. No deviations are
allowed in these even during /after Tender.

Guidelines for uniform furnishing Pattern
In Branch / Office Premises
i) Guideline for General Layout
The consultants appointed for any refurbishing project as per prevailing laid down
guidelines will prepare the layout plan ofthebranch premises in consultation with
corporate services/ A&S Dep’t besides the Information Technology Department and
Security Department of Zonal Office and Branch Manager as per the requirement of
the Branch.
a) Diamond Customer Lounge / Relationship Manager :
In the branches having more than 500 Diamond Customers, a Diamond Customer
Lounge (DC Lounge) along with Relationship Manager (RM) is required to be
provided. It is preferable to have the DC Lounge along with RM’S Cabin adjacent
Branch Manager’s Cabin. The modules having indicative sizes ofthe Diamond
Customer Lounge along with Relationship Manager’s Cabin and Branch Manager’s
Cabin and Diamond Customer Lounge along with RM’s Cabin are shown inthe
drawings for your guidance.
The entry to the RM’s cabin shall be through DC Lounge and if Manager’s cabin is
adjoining to the DC Lounge, one entry to DC Lounge from the Manager’s cabin shall
also be provided.
Maximum area to be earmarked for theBranch Manager/ Relationship Manager and
Diamond Customer’s Lounge shall be 150 sq.ft, 75sq.ft. Respectively.
b) Suitable space shall be earmarked for customers for seating (Max.area – 200sq.ft. and
Max. number of seating – 20 No ) if it is not possible to have seating arrangement at
one location, if may be suitably scattered.
c) Provision for drinking water (Water dispenser) may be provided inthe customer
area.
d) Demarcation on the floor (Preferably in yellow colour ) say 3’ from the cash counters
shall be drawn for restricting customers from crowding in front ofthe cash counters.
Also stainless steel chain link in between two cash counters may be provided inthe
customers area.
