CHAPTER 3: RESEARCH FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
3.1.2.1. After action questionnaire findings
Survey questionnaire 2 was conducted with the aim to find out any change in students' motivation after implementing the action. In the figure below, the students' levels of motivation was clearly indicated.

As can be seen from figure 3.4, students' levels of motivation increased a lot after the intervention. The chart showed that. 57.14% of the students agreed that speaking lessons were interesting. 3 out of 14 students (21.42%) approved that they found speaking lessons very interesting, and 21.42% of the students were highly interested.
There is only 1 out of 14 students (7.14%) choosing the option uninterested
In figure 3.5, the researcher presented students' levels of interest in discussion activities.

After enjoying speaking lessons with the two discussion activities, 42.86% of the students felt very interested to take part in discussion activities. The number of students felt interested ranked the second with 35.71%. Also, 21.42% of the students were highly interested to participate in speaking lessons. None of them had the option not interested at all.

As shown in table 3.2, we can see that 13 out of the students (92.86%) felt relaxed and enjoyable when participating in discussion activities, and agreed that discussion activities helped to make the speaking lessons more interesting. Only 1 student chose the option neutral in the two opinions. All of the students accepted that they were given more opportunities to speak English when joining in discussion activities. When being asked whether discussion activities could help them improve their speaking motivation, 9 out of 14 students (64.29%) agreed while 4 of the students (28.57%) were not sure about their choice and 1 student disagreed.
In figure 3.6 the researcher illustrated students' preferences for the two discussion activities that had been applied during the implementation.

Between the two discussion activities that had been applied by their teacher, the students seemed to prefer layout debates to layout problems with 57.14% and 42.86% respectively. In addition, when being asked whether they expected their teacher to use discussion activities more in the future, all of the students chose the option Yes. The students became more excited and interested to get involved in English speaking lessons with discussion activities.

In short, based on the data of survey questionnaire 2, we can see that the students' motivation was improved a lot after six weeks of implementation.
