Right from the beginning of 2022, after the CoVID-19 pandemic in the province had been basically controlled, the vaccine coverage rate had reached the requirement, the Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee sent a written request to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advise the Provincial People's Committee to announce the opening of tourism, welcome and serve tourists according to each level of the pandemic in the local area in association with corresponding measures to ensure safety against the pandemic; concretizing criteria for safe tourist destinations and services according to regulations of central agencies and other localities. It has also disseminated and helped businesses and people in the area thoroughly understand relevant regulations on safe tourism activities; strengthening inspection, control and guidance to ensure convenient tourism activities, while ensuring safety and well controlling the pandemic.
The province has requested tourism businesses in the province to urgently develop plans and procedures to welcome guests safely in accordance with relevant
regulations of the Tourism industry, the Health sector and the locality; preparing conditions to welcome and serve tourists safely, having a backup plan to readily handle incidents caused by the pandemic according to regulations. It has strengthened promotional activities, communication, stimulating tourism to stick to the message "Safe tourism - full experience", orientation for restarting domestic tourism; introducing linked packages to stimulate domestic tourism with incentives, commitment to quality, and developing new tourism products and services.
Bac Lieu province has also proposed the provincial press agencies strengthen communication, promotion and advertising of attractive tourist destinations and products; reopening tourism, ensuring safety to prevent and control the CoVID-19 pandemic and the readiness to welcome tourists; opening a column on the program "Safe tourism - full experience"; updating information on safety assessment results of destinations and localities.
In addition, the Steering Committee for Tourism Development of Bac Lieu province has also just issued the Implementation Plan of the Action Program on Tourism
effectively implementing the Resolution of the 16th Congress of Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 – 2025 term; Resolution 11-NQ/TU dated December 17, 2018 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee (Term XV) on continuing to promote tourism development to 2025, orientation to 2030; Exploiting tourism development in parallel with tourism development solutions in the direction of humanity and sustainability; effectively exploiting tourism resources in association with the conservation and promotion of national cultural values and historical relics of the province; ensuring national defense, security, social order and safety; protecting environment; and well solving problems of labor, employment and social security.
Ms. Cao Xuan Thu Van, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Provincial Tourism Steering Committee, said that in 2022, the province set a target of revenues from tourism - services to strive to reach about VND3,000 billion. In particular, the revenue of restaurants - hotels will reach over VND1,100 billion; it will welcome about 3,300,000 tourists; about 1,600,000 guests using
accommodation services; recognizing from 01 - 02 tourist attractions and proposing the Mekong Delta Tourism Association to recognize as a typical tourist attraction of the region; Acknowledging from 01 to 03 hotels reaching the quality standard of 03 stars or more.
“In order to achieve the assigned goals and targets, the Provincial Tourism Steering Committee has set out 08 tasks and solutions to focus on implementing in 2022. These are: Promoting propaganda about views and goals of tourism development; stepping up the development of tourism products and tourism services; stepping up investment in technical facilities and infrastructure to serve the development of the tourism industry; combining the organization of cultural and sports activities in association with tourism development; strengthening linkages and cooperation in tourism development; improving the quality of tourism human resources and promoting community education for tourism development; enhancing tourism advertisements and promotion and finally strengthening the effectiveness of state management of tourism activities," said Ms. Van.n
